your valuables at work

Post by minks »

Well never a dull moment here at the munitions shop.:wah:

We had another cell scare again, this time evacuation was not required (whew)

But this brings to light a point that crossed my mind, for everybody at work, do you have things of value (either sentimental or monitary) with you, I dunno, I know there are people who bring in some specialty items to adorn their desk, or office walls and shelves? Well think of this, if you had to make an emergency evacuation, you may not be able to gather all your valuables before you have leave. Even worse if you are in a job where you work with dangerous goods, you may never get the chance to come back to your office after the building has been levelled.

So on top of potential thieves in ones place of work, who may snitch your valuables here is another point to ponder.

Ok I have my heart rate back to normal, resume regular programing.

I never kept anything valuable at work. But then I'm not the type of person that would make their office/desk/cubicle look like a mini version of home anyway. :o

everything important stayed in my purse....:D

same here, and it's good to keep your purse in the same place every day so if you have to leave quickly you are not stumbling around trying to find it, or if your office is smoke filled you want to have it easily within your reach.

And same with car keys.

I wouldn't dream of taking in a bag (purse) as even a common and garden pen or pencil goes missing within ten minutes. Anything I need stays on my person.

Good old n.h.s

I get uncomfortable with too much junk in my pockets when I'm sitting so I've spent the last twenty years with all my things piled at the back of my desk - keys, wallet, cash, 'phone, etc.

Annoys the neighbours if my 'phone goes off whilst I'm in a meeting or at lunch but at least I've nothing pushing holes into my legs.
