Man Drags Pit Bull To Death After Chihuahua Killed

Man Charged With Animal Cruelty

ORLAND, Ind. -- An Orland man who was angry that his pit bull had killed his Chihuahua dragged the pit bull to death behind an SUV, police said. Kevin Collins, 20, was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty. He remained incarcerated at the Steuben County Jail on $10,000 bail Saturday night. A woman driving along a county route on Thursday saw the animal being dragged along the dirt road, noted the SUV's plate number and called 911, police said. Police said they found Collins at his parents' house. Collins told police he dragged his pit bull because it killed his other dog. Afterward, Collins dumped the dead dog along the road and left it, police said. If convicted, Collins could be sentenced to six months to three years in jail.Copyright 2007 by The Associated

A few people here buy or steal pitbulls and use them as guard dogs. They usually live in or near a bad neighborhood, and so instead of installing an expensive security system, they go out and get a pitbull (or two) and turn him/them loose in their back yard. Naturally, the dog or dogs get bored and dig out or jump over the fence and go looking for something to attack, usually a cat or another dog or a stray human being. One attacked a kid near a school in Oklahoma City a while back and the poor kid had to have over 80 stitches. The kid's mother saw it happen. There was a woman in the Pacific NW who was attacked by a pitbull which broke into her house thru a pet door.

It doesn't surprise me that some guy would drag a dog behind his vehicle. Like he never thought a pitbull would attack another dog? Some of these people seem surprised when their pitbull maims or kills a human being. "Mmmmm-Duh....I don't understand.....he was just a big old playful Pooh Bear most of the time."

And most of the time they are big, loving pooh bears.

You should probably know I'm one among the pit bull/Rott supporters here.
