New Laptop
My old computer fried up last weekend, with all my backup! The Geeks saved my memory (oh, my, I had so many manuscripts and research on it!) I got a new laptop this morning, a Gateway with lots of gadgets and all. It is pretty cool.

The Norton does make a computer run slower, I put a different spyware/virus system on the laptop.

I was about to ask if you guys like your laptops better than a desktop...the pros and cons of each...I've only had desktops and I'm very happy with mine. So far.

I prefer a desktop at home, but went with a laptop so I can take it with me for research. I prefer using a real mouse, then the mousepad thingee.

Well, I'm spoiled rotten (by myself of course) I have BOTH!! I like them both, really like the laptop for being able to relax in the bedroom and still chat or do my school work, etc.
I work for an IT company and Laptops are known for being hard to fix. If the motherboard goes....YIKES....its fixable of course but very expensive. I have a dell laptop and it was refurbished when I bought it almost 2 years ago. I am very fortunate that I know some real good Tech's when I need help though. I'm greatful for that!

I don't know where I would be without my laptop, it is soooo much better than a desktop in my opinion. Being able to take it with me around the house and not having to unplug leads all the time is such a relief, and so far it has been behaving itself and hardly ever crashed on me.

Wireless mice are great, I would definately recommend one, though some do eat up batteries like nothing!
