The ability to go back in time is really easy.....move to PA :)

Todays headlines regarding the use of cell phones whilst driving is a corker (see below).

A few others would be nice too .....

Seat belts on school buses!

Helmets for motor bikers!

And I would really appreciate it if the police/gas station owners could stop people smoking on the forecourts!

Just a few things I observed on my way home today :)

''I believe people should have the right to use a telephone while they drive. But I do not believe they have the right to make our roads unsafe.''

The word 'right' has become synonymous with the word 'priviledge'. No where in our constitution does it give anyone the right to use a cell phone, driving or not.

In fact, driving is a priviledge and not a right.

I use a hands free device when it becomes necessary. The only time I have ever just chatted was when I was on the interstate and there was very little traffic while I was traveling a long distance. Otherwise, it does distract me. I know this! DUH!

Sit at any red light and count the cars that go by that have people using the phone. I'll bet you get close to half the people using one hand to drive, even in a turn lane.

BAN IT! No one is so important that they cannot wait to get home or pull over to talk on the phone. And if they are that important, they wouldn't be driving themselves. :D
When choosing between two evils, I always like to take the one I've never tried before.

Couldn't agree more 911, though we have banned using mobiles whilst driving over here, and yet that doesn't distract anyone really from doing it, despite the obvious dangers. Really sad that some people just can't do anything without their phone nearby, especially running the risk of causing an accident.

Its become that almost every car I pass these days the driver is on their phone. My DH drives a lot and has a car kit enabling hands free - they really are not that expensive :-5 I am ashamed to say, most of the culprits I see are women!

But its the men I mostly see smoking on a gas station forecourt, talk about living dangerously!

I know, I guess that most people, despite being aware of the dangers or risks, just feel that it will never happen to them, so what's to worry or stop doing it. That's such an awful attitude! :-5
