Daily.......

Each day I walk my two dogs Bradley (GSD) and Bonnie (Brittany Spaniel), we go to our local state park which is located about 4 mins. drive from my house.

Now they know that I am going to walk them ever day, so how irritating do you think it is when, every time you move (and I mean every time) they both jump up, run after me and give me that, I feel so neglected look. Bradley will continuously run to the cupboard, pushing open the door with his paw and proceeding to tug on his leash (you'd think by now he would of learnt, after pulling the shelf off the wall 3 times already, that its not going to work).

So I'm ready to walk them. :-2 Now have you ever tried putting a collar on two dogs who are doing triple somersaults at a rate of 30 a minute!! Belief me a rugby tackle is necessary!! We then proceed towards the garage, which is another challenge in its self. If I can get the door open (before they take off the hinges by hurling themselves at it), I then have to stand well back to avoid the stampede. Bonnie will usually try to bounce straight into the back of my jeep - without first checking that door was actually open either, and look at me with a dazed and confused stare (I swear sometimes, I can actually see the stars rotating around her head).

Eventually I will throw myself into the drivers seat, completely worn out and feeling that I need a rest and not a walk!! :wah:

How do your dogs react when they know its 'Walkies'!!!

well not owning a dog myself I couldn't realy say but I do know how pets respond at auch times.

Where I live I don't need a leash for my dog on walks.but I know what you mean about how they get excited about it. I have to admit alot of times I just open the gate and let her take her own walk. Like I couldn't use the exercise too.:wah:

She's a bit older now so she usually stays in the fence.

Have you ever watched or heard of the show The dog whisperer it airs on the National Geographic channel. With this guy named Cesar Milan.I'm not sure what time or day they air the new ones,but they show reruns often. He has a lot of good tips on ways to make peoples dogs behave.

Thats a double :yh_drool, I don't mind if I have to pull him along on his roller blades or stand quietly at the door panting waiting for walkies :wah:

Dont have dogs but I get a similar reaction when I am going to take the children to the park, Hyper is an understatement. HEhehehehehe:wah::D;)

Oh God, please dont remind me. Its the whole sudden lack of bone and muscle in their bodies move that they do, sliding off the sofa, faces like thunder muttering about how unfair life is and how much they hate living with you.

hahahahaha, yes a totally different pattern to "I know darlings, lets go to the park and play in the mud"..............hehhe
