How do you balance your life??

Since going back to school I am really struggling to fit everything in, sadly one of the 1st things to go was my time that I spent here:-1

By the time I have gone to school, done tea, sorted their homework, run the kids to kids clubs, done my homework it seems that I have no time for a life!

I have spent the weekend and Monday night in bed with migraines due to high blood pressure, I am now back on the beta blockers and feel a lot better than what I was.

We have problems with Jim's children which in turn has upset both of us, we are more skint than we have ever been, then if all that lot wasn't enough I should be going to court very shortly for the negligence case...........arghhhhh!!!!!!

I just don't seem to be able to find any balance, how do you folks manage? Or are you all on medication like me, hehe:)

Since starting college my online time has disapeared too, I mostly need anytime on the computer for research!

It's great fun hey Suzy? :-5 Rush home, get tea, get kids to do homework, get them bathed and into bed, then do your homework and in between all that do the dishes, sort the washing, hoover up, wash the kitchen floor etc etc

Some nights I'm really good and organised and achieve everything easily, others I just seem to chase myself around and acheive nothing :wah:

I do on the odd night but then what happens when the clean plates, knives and forks, clean clothes etc run out

My God Boops, I am just finding time management so very hard, I have spent no time at all with Jim as my nose is stuck in a book or I am trying to do an essay, I didn't even go out at the weekend:( I am loving the course but am finding it really hard going, we are averaging 2 homeworks for each session, so that 6 pieces 3 times a week!

Hmm sounds like you lot have been thrown in at the deep end, we get varying amounts, for instance last week due to tutor illness etc we only had two pieces all week. This week though we have a 1500 word Sociology essay on suicide (how enlightening :rolleyes:) a huge amount on law and equity that requires tonnes of research, and english lit that I have yet to find out about as I'm off again today. We've also got to produce a creative piece of writing over the next six weeks for Eng Lit

But..... I keep telling myself that I'm only finding the amount of homework hard because I'm not entirely sure that I'm doing it properly, and that as time goes on it will become easier and quicker to produce essays etc.

And of course Suzy your days are spread out over the week, mine are all at the beginning of the week so on my first day off on thurs I do all the shopping and cleaning, then I have friday clear for homework. I guess I also have the added advantage of my children going to their Dads for most weekends.

Hehe, I was starting to think the college had it in for me, I have tried to drop a level for Maths and English but they wont let me

Two of us are really struggling with the maths but our other mate is good at it so she helps us out :wah:

Wish I was doing just English and not English Lit, just got my first piece of writing back, she's written this

funny you should ask this and then talk about your college courses....because my initial response was....one of my assignments (yesterday) was to write the answer to a discussion question: "How do you spend most of your time?" Do you think that your time is managed effectively?" ANNNNNND when I got done laughing....I answered the question....I play on my forums and squeeze in my assignments and get my work done at work, laundry, dishes, kids.....ha!.....:-5:-5

Again I say...."I'm NOT wonderwoman, only play one on TV and HERE!:o"

What I love about you Wendy, is that you never give up, you try to be the best that you can be and that is a really great quality to have. I know things are tough but sometimes it is these trying times that shape us as human beings :-4 Your doing good girlfriend :-4

First, let's find that dude who invented homework and give him/her a piece of our minds.:-5

Secondly, don't expect to do "everything". Nobody can. We women are good at multi-tasking...but we don't do miracles. Sometimes a plan or a list for the next day helps. Delegate small jobs that need to get done to others, then have a small celebration together at the end of the week. Make "tasks" a team effort. Everyone gets involved, everyone feels needed.

Remember that all this studying and classwork is only temporary...to get you where you want to be in your life. Keep a sense of humor and let those who love you help you. It's a win-win situation.

Lastly, make sure you take some time for youreslf. A hot bath listening to your favorite music would really be nice. Jimbo giving you a backrub. Just a suggestion..
