"the guy on the dvd says ..... if every one that believes in god is wrong then so what it does not make one bit of difference .... but if they are right it makes a difference of infinate importance "

how so? The world is full of believers and non-believers of various denominations and the world still turns, regardless

I think it was meant in the respect of how your life is lived, we all know that life goes on but I think it meant on the spirtitual level, if that makes sense

I envy the peace and faith that these people have.

over to you the massiah mafia whats your thoughts

spell checker not working do your best

The Alpha course is useful if you're wanting a basic lead in to faith but that form of specious argument deserves nothing but a kick up the arse.

If you want to find out what's on offer then go along and see what is being said but, for God's sake, make your own decision - don't be a sheep.

you can have peace and faith without religion. To have that absolute serenity, you have to sacrifice your soul and thought process and be willing to swallow implausible facts and overlook contradictions.

they're well intentioned though, my eldest girl was involved with the baptist church for a few years and did the alpha course. Nice people who did a lot for local kids and it was certainly better than having her hang out on street corners.

I think that is why I've never really quite got there! I have been to church throughout my life many times but I never seem to have found what others have.

Then read, voraciously - and once you have read all you can then find the best exponent you can in the opposition camp and pit your wits against them.

The argument that Jim was putting forward was "if every one that believes in god is wrong then so what it does not make one bit of difference .... but if they are right it makes a difference of infinate importance" - I was suggesting that he should not follow the crowd.

Nothing to do with the subject - just the reasoning used to promote it.

Don't confuse belief or faith with religion. They're not necessarily interchangeable.
