Big Spider!!
Today I was procrastinating, I have an acre of grass that I push mow and its pretty over-whelming...so about 5pm I decide its cooled off enough, to get my butt out there....:-5
First thing is....ummm, I have this really bad habit of leaving my "mowin' shoes" outside on the porch, and don't think about the fact that "creatures" could be in there....so I slip my shoes on and feel something slimy.... I get the shoe off as fast as I can!! Tap it out and out comes what looks like a tail from a blue tail lizzard, its squiggling on the side walk....and I'm scared that the lizard is still in the shoe....ugh...it wasn't so I calmed down and went on to mowin' grass...
I'm mowing along and all of a sudden something comes out of the tall weeds ....and it this HUGE yellow spider....I went to get my camera...that is another long story, cause my camera had NO batteries...and had problems finding batteries that worked...but I did and in the next post I will post the pics of the spider, I re-sized them...kinda blurry, but think you get the idea.....and if you are afraid of spiders...ummm this is your warning!! get out of the thread now...even though it won't bother you....for goodness sakes he lives at MY house!!!:D:D

It looks peculiar to me.....but what do I know.
It also looks harmless..........how did you get it to pose like that....say "Cheese" ?
You must have picked the little bugger up and moved it to the photo studio.
And as an after thought......3 inches ?
What did you base that on ? Did hubby tell you his" cough" manhood was 12 inches ?
That spider is an inch at most......but please dont tell your hubby

First of all, I have no hubby....and I don't need a man to tell me how to measure something....
I didn't touch it....I am getting the 3 inches from my memory of how big that thing is...
How do you know it is a inch, were you here? don't think so.....

Nice scary pix, but are they dangerous? :-3
After being bitten myself by a Brown Recluse Spider in my sleep, (causing me to go to the hospital) I now have electrical "insect" repellers plugged in all my bedrooms. They supposidly emitt a high frequency sound for upto 15 feet that keeps/drives them away from those areas. Black & Decker & Sunbeam are the models of the ones I have. They seem to work, as I have many spiders in my garage under my bedroom, & have never seen one in any of the bedrooms. Only the other rooms. Guess I need to get a few more & put one in every room! I'm off shortly, to go & do that!

Wow magenta, what a monster, it looks like you painted on its "eyes", scary!
I've seen some nasty looking critters when in Florida, but nothing like that!

Ewwww! I do NOT like any kinds of bugs...PERIOD! He sure was a big one. I'm like you, as long as they leave me alone, I'll leave them alone. I don't know whats worse spiders or centipeeds! God, I feel like I'm itching now! My EX was a paramedic, and he told me a story one night of how his crew transported a patient to the hospital. While he was there filling out paperwork, he could hear a kid screaming. One of the nurses said that the poor thing had a SPIDER that had crawed up into his ear and died. They were trying to get the damd thing out of his ear canal! THATS NASTY! Thank GOD, he wasn't in your shoe!

It's a banana spider, a female. If you see a smaller one in the web, it's her hubby. We've one in the back yard, and she's just as big. They'll die in the cool weather, eventually, but their eggs should hatch out next spring.

ummm, I just saw this and yes, I've push-mowed my acre for almost 17 years now......
And I disagree about the size of the spider...I saw it...it was huge....but no sense in argueing about it...we can agree to disagree:)
