Hi everyone --
I started using blogs and forums about 5 years ago, but I think I'd like to try to create one of these new types of social accounts. A few of my coworkers use Myspace and Facebook. I tried creating a Myspace account, but I felt it was rather tacky for someone in their 30s. What are people's thought on this?
My friend who moved to Europe uses a site called "xakasha.com". Apparently it has a lot of great features to post videos and pictures (I love taking videos of my toddlers and I love to experiment with photography). She also said it has really good privacy settings, which I think is important. I think it comes out in the US next week. I might give it a try.

Myspace or Facebook? Confused adult.
I joined that My? Space, but then I deleted my account. I felt the same way about the age issue. And at my college there were so many students on that site that the tech people had signs posted all through the study labs saying My Space wasn't allowed in the lab.
My x-roommate's teenage kids had profiles and I also began getting rude immature emails from people on My Space.

Myspace or Facebook? Confused adult.
Facbook was started as a college - university only site. Until a short time ago you could not even register there with out a valid college ID. Myspace has a further reach being international for quite some time now. I love the account I have at Myspace and haven't looked at my Facebook account in months. Moving around as much as I do it lets me keep in easy contact with people and in touch with old friends.
Life ain't linear.

I started with MySpace. It's like a hobby if you don't allow your page to lie fallow. I don't understand those people who set up a page just to let it sit there unadorned and unused.
I took a look at FaceBook a few weeks ago but it didn't seem as user-friendly. Perhaps I should take a second look (like I need yet one more place on the interweb to speed-slack  ).
[EDIT] By the way, does anyone else suspect the original poster is in fact a shill for the website she mentioned? Thought not. [/EDIT]
