Trick or Treat ?!?!?!?!

Post by SuzyB »

It has been dead here, we have only had 3 people Trick and Treating at our house tonight and 1 of those was Sam!

Despite the hype and more stock in shops nowadays, people don't seem to go door knocking, I am not sure if people are having parties or just not bothering.

Here are some picture's of Jenna, Sam wouldn't have one taken :-5:-5

She did start off with a wig but pulled it off after 5 mins

We've had none, which is good as my son is petrified! He's been in a highly anxious state all day so fingers crossed he'll settle down again tomorrow.

Thats what I was saying to the kids, many people can get scared, especially if their is a large group of scary faces.

The thing thats driving me nuts is the fireworks, they have been going off for about 2 weeks, problem is where I have PTSD it makes me more jumpy, so I'm literally jumping out of my seat everytime one goes off :-5

We had exactly the number of trick or treaters I expected. None. We live on a dark, dirt backroad, and have like 19 steps up to our house.

I normally buy candy I like, so I can enjoy the leftovers, but last year ()our first in this new neighborhood) they cleaned me out. This year, I decided to keep the little goblins that like to revisit over and over to a minimum ..... I bought Halloween pencils to give out instead! :wah:

Loads of trick or treaters this year!

Completely wiped me out and I had to raid my daughter's stash of sweets!!

My grandson went out as a hamfire (vampire to a two year old) and came back with enough goodies for the next three months! Bless.

We usually just leave a bowl out for the trick or treaters, and then take our kids around our development. This year Lucy wanted to stay at home and give out the candy - she had so much more fun giving the candy this year. I think we have around 50 kids last night. :)

Our 16 year old neighbour and his friends got a disapproving Pheasy stare, with a 'Don't you think you are a little old?' and 'Where is your costume?' - but I let them have candy anyway. Maybe he will stop once he gets married :-3

When I was 16 my best friend and I decided to go out for one last hurrah. We went around at about 9.30 looking for left overs, cigarettes and beer.

There were some who saw the humour in it and invited us into Halloween parties that were going on, others just told us off. It was fun.

we live in the country, I wouldn't have expected to get many kids if any...but hubby took the kids to a festival nearby and I was at school so no one was home anyway. :)

We had the best halloween ever!

I bought a huge ghost with red flashing eyes to put on the front door and hubby carved a brilliant pumpkin face with lots of pointy teeth in it. I also bought a HUGE black fluffy spider which I tied string to and hubby rigged to the ceiling. When the kids knocked on the door I pulled the string so the spider rose up to the ceiling, they called out "Trick or Treat?" and I said "trick" and let the string go. This massive spider then dropped down right in front of their faces and swung at kiddies head height! :wah:

It wasn't really scary but the kids LOVED it! One little girl said I was the best halloweener ever! he he (Cute!) *blush* A lot of the parents burst out laughing at the spider and were all so friendly and cheerful. We got through bags and bags of sweeties (but still have enough left to rot our teeth on today! hehe) :wah:

I know I'm turning into a bit of an old fart (!) :o but I loved the fact that everyone had costumes on. Most of the girls had adorable little witches outfits on and the boys were brilliant as devils, vampires and ghosts with great made-up faces. There are usually some kids who just don't bother but still want sweets. Of course they get sweets, but I think its nice that if I bother to buy them sweets then they should bother to dress up! (See, told you I was an old fart!) :wah:

We also get a big crowd of teenagers who trick or treat together. I think its kinda nice that they're still young enough to want to do this as kids just grow up too fast today. Its such a big rush to be a 'grown-up' only to find adulthood sucks! :rolleyes

One funny thing I find every year is that the little ones tend to take one tiny sweet from the bowl whilst the bigger ones grab a huge handful! I always tell the little ones to take more sweeties cos their bigger siblings have way more than they do in their pumpkin candy pots. You can guess how many the teenagers grab in their huge paws! Luckily we bought loads of sweets this year cos we certainly needed them. But it was such a good fun evening with all the parents bringing their little ones round and so many had witches hats on too. I borrowed my daughters witches hat which has pink feathers and lights on - cool, huh? *chuckles* It was a nice night especially as you get to meet so many neighbours and chat to them, rather than just knowing those who live closest to you.

Roll on fireworks night now! (5th November) Yay! *grins*

Molly was a fashion model,(she said) I thought she looked like a Bratz doll.:)

I wish I knew how to post pics.

The kids in my area trick or treated tuesday night. We never have any come here. there aren't any small kids on our street.

We took Molly to my old neighborhood again to trick or treat. I loved it. It brought back good memories from my childhood.

But, One thing I noticed was the adults walking with thier kids.

Almost as many grown ups as childern.

I my day,mom just turned me loose. I don't remember many adults being around.

I guess the times have changed. Now you can't take your eyes off your kids for a second. Kind of sad.

Some times it works for me , and at times it doesnt.

When I'm able to post any kind of picture or image. I am shocked ,suprised and happy.:wah:

I'll get the hang of it someday.

We had no trick or treaters, but that's no surprise. We took the kids out trick or treating for bout an hour, since it was so cold. They had a good haul, especially since their nana fixes them bags of treats every year.

I spent my Halloween in school. The cutest thing was my school had a trick or treat station in each building for little kids to get candy. We have a preschool across the street from my college. Last year I bought candy and just ate the leftovers.

I live in Hollywood, Ca so everyday is Halloween here :wah:
