I've heard it said: "You always hear about friends/relatives deaths in "3"s, within a few weeks! Last month my neighbor died, & while I was in KC last week my Aunt died. Now, sadly, I guess I'm waiting to hear about the 3rd death.

So, do you believe in things like this?

Cars, I'm very sorry to hear this.

I don't personally believe the "3" thing applies to regular people but it is uncanny the way it seems to apply to celebrities. We just lost Porter Wagoner, a country star and I am waiting to hear of the next two. I almost wonder if the universe has a special plan for these people or if it's just that they're famous so we hear of them, and it's not a "3" at all....?

It's a good question.

That always seems to happen at work.

Three deaths, three retirements, three very sick people. . . .

Been there a long time, long enough to believe in the three's. But, I believe that it only happens in large groups. Like my office, the entertainment world, etc.

So, Cars, take heart and I think you'll be OK.

I am sorry for those you lost. I hope the next three things are good things :)

Thanks for caring guys. That Aunt was my favoriate one, thankfully she went fast. Died in the hospital after only 3 days. She is now pain free, & with my Uncle on his birthday, it was yesterday. And Red, as for celebs, Robert Goulet just died within the last few days, so. . . . .

I'm so sorry, Cars. But I like your thinking and I am sure your aunt and uncle have been happily reunited. But still I know the pain and I really am sorry.

I didn't know about Robert Goulet. It's always been strange to me how celebrities in 3's go are about the same caliber. To me it seems either they're all very famous or not really famous at all.

I latch on to certain superstitions and think others are a hoax :D.

The die in threes I've heard of before but only related to celebrities. So no, I don't believe I will have three relatives die in a row, within say a month of each other. But on the other hand, yes, maybe this could happen. Can I stop death? No, I think not.

Sorry about your loss, cars. :-4

sorry about your aunt Cars! :yh_hugs

I don't believe in those types of things, though. Things just happen as they're meant to happen and by coincidence, probability, statistics, etc. they are bound to appear to have a pattern sometimes....

I say I'm not superstitious but I do believe death comes in threes and I won't walk under a ladder. Why push my luck? It's bad enough.
