Feeling a Little Sad

Today I am missing my family in UK like crazy. My brother is about to disappear to Morocco and I don't know when he will be back :-1

I have not spoken to any of my family in a long while.

Is anyone else like this ..... when you are having a tough time, you stop communicating with people - like I don't call my family, I avoid my friends and I can't post here? I know its really stupid because that is when you should be with people. I guess its my survival thing, cos if I admit to people I am struggling, then I have to admit it to myself too. I dunno what do you think?

Good thing is I'm getting about again, so on the right road again :wah::wah:

I'm sorry you are feeling home sick, i feel home sick all the time

I haven't see most of my family for over a year now and i'm not going to get to see them till 2009, :-1

i really can't wait for that day :-6

Not surprised to hear you’re homesick with your recent posts on craving Custard, and thinking about flying the flag.

I am away from my family as well, and I am trying to make more of an effort to stay in touch. I am putting in a new rule where as, if I can spend time posting here, then I also can send an email to one of my siblings, even if it is to just say ‘hello, thinking of you’.

I think that when you are far away, one always feels that you need to have lots to talk about if you call home, and when things aren’t going great it is hard to talk about what you can not think straight about, with people who are not involved in your day to day life situations.

Cheer up, if your brother is on line in Morocco, you will be able to stay in touch.

Being homesick is a terrible feeling. I lived in Georgia for two years, and hated every minute of it. I flew home at least 6 times, and drove home at least 4 more. Try to think of your time away as a life adventure. A time to add to your list of life experiences. Ill bet that you can make fish and chips, and custard too. Get the recipe from someone you love over there. Also try not to shut yourself off from people. If you made a friend that you like here, the time till you get back home would fly by.

Don't get me wrong I love living in the States. I just need:

1. All my family to move over here.

2. Get making the custard recipes that were posted for me ( :-4 )

3. Open my own Fish n Chip shop - someone needs to send me fish caught locally though - cos it just ain't the same here.

4. Stop my neighbours slicing up my flag (just joking, my neighbours are great and I don't fly any flags).

5. And a great big FG meet-up would be nice too!

Do you think my demands are to great?

Seriously though, I do like living here and have no plans to live anywhere else anytime soon. Its just been a while since I have been back to the UK (about 3 yrs) and think I'm due a visit (early next year looks hopeful - YA!!!)

Also, I must call my family TODAY (I think my Nan is going to give me a thick ear for leaving it so long :-3).
