hey girl, in regards to your passport, and the fact they said it could take up to 2 months to process.... I got some info that may help you along

if you are able, download all the docs from the net, fill them out at home, have your pics taken, and notorized asap. If your documents ask for a date of travel put it to 3 weeks from now not your actual travel date this should help speed things up for you. Then go into the passport office and hand it over to them there and let them look over all your paperwork and ID and pics. They can get it processed quicker that way than through the mail.

You ROCK!!! Thank you darlin...I've been stressing over all of this...I can't find my birth cert or SS card...so I ordered a replacement birth cert over the internet this morning and took my lunch hour and went to the local SS office and ordered a new card. It will take about 2 weeks for both....to get to me in the mail.

Now, I looked it up about the passport last night, and I'm wondering if they will take my old passport, which is REALLY old and has my maiden name....or maybe I will just take Minksy's advice!:-4

I'm am really working on all of this.....I haven't told anyone in the family yet, figured that would be a fun Thanksgiving conversation....YIKES!! I was hoping they might help with the kids, but I'm stressing over other issues also....anyway............:-5

I told my kids and the youngest is wondering why HE can't come with me????

here in canadaland if your passport has expired by a year, it is no longer useful ID for an upgrade, we have to reapply.

There I do not know if that is so.

I am excited for ya girl, brings back fond memories of my trip over the ocean. I hope you have a total blast. I am off to work now.

Huggs and good luck.

PS go ahead and check online with the gvt wesite for passports I bet they will have some FAQ's that may help ya.

Cheers

Armed Forces, Navy Seals in particular might have it. Your Congressman, Governor anyone that will listen. Just start calling people and tell them you need the X-19 Form.

And say damnit to alarm them and let them know you mean business.

You might try telling them that youre not fooling around (damnit). That works sometimes.

Wendy, You can get your passport in 2 weeks if pay extra money (forgot how much).

Try This:

http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/fi ... t_831.html

I had to fly to Ireland because of an emergency and forgot that my passport had to be renewed. I filled out the forms and had my passport in 2 wks.

I've shared with a few people about this adventure of mine and expected skeptism...and of course I have been asked..."what do they want from you"....and I'm thinking...ummmmmmmmm....wellllllll............ummmmmmmmm.....Friendship!...its a shame that we live in a world that something is always expected in return...isn't it?

I've also been reminded of the fact that I should have my will drawn up....

I put in a request for time off...I asked for Thursday and friday the 24th and 25th...and the 28th-Monday....I am waiting to see what he says....

yes WW3 do up your will as well check out your travel insurance as well, and make sure you have some ok, I would also advise that you buy cancellation insurance just incase for some unforseen reason you can't make the trip you will get the cost of the flight back.

Also a couple other tips for ya

if you are taking anything that needs charging, make sure to ask about the charger due to the different power outlets over there. Do not just get an adapter get a charger (however very costly) I would suggest just take lots of batteries. (I took 3 battery packs for my camera)

Take along your meds, and if you have allergies do remember to take those along, pack them into your purse or carry on just incase your suitcase goes missing.

Buy yourself a tiny slim flat shoulder purse thing or a passport carrier so you can have that baby with you at all times and close to your body, under your jacket. Hunny as an american this is hugely important ok.:-4

Travel light just ask Weeder ahahaha somebody is bound to have a wash machine over there, and nobody is going to give a rip about you wearing the same pants twice ahahahaha
