It's Cold at the Beach

Post by Kathy Ellen »

A cold front has crept in ,and it's so cold at the beach. It gave me an excuse to put my fireplace on just now.

I have some friends coming over later for a little tucker before they head home to upstate New Jersey. Luckily their son will drive them home:wah: Made some green beans with sesame seeds, lovely green garden salad, pork tenderloin with homemade salsa quesadillas and margaritas. For dessert we're having some chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream.

For an after dinner drink we're having "Rusty Nails" that 's Glenfiddich and drambuie.

Come over for some tucker or an after dinner drink. See ya later.:-6

You made me hungry too, I was sat here thinking how full up I was until I read your post:rolleyes: I made spag bol tonight with garlic bread, then did a chicken curry for everyone when we got back, thats all on top of Cider and Jack Daniels, I'll be regreting it in the morning.

Love the fireplace, I would like one like that but Jim can't stand the heating on let alone a fire.

Well, my guests have just left all full of good food and good cheer on their way home to upstate NJ.... We had a nice night just chatting and making future plans for the summer.

The fire is still a go and it's nice just to sit and look at the little flames. I just wonder why the fireplace structure is so big and the opening pit is so small. Anyone know why? I've asked so many people, and no one knows why. I'm wondering if it's because my home is from the '50s and maybe it was smaller then, and then newer owners built on to it?

Oh well, have a good night all.:-6

Oh Oh, you let the cold out all around, it's "17" degrees here in New England!!! Coldest day of the year here so far!!!

We have our Fireplace going as well, if we get it roaring enough, it actually heats up the whole house! But it's easier to just turn up the thermostat!;)

As for the size of the pit, it could be standard a pre-assembled "firebox" built in a factory, that is installed by the house builder. Makes for standard fireplace glass doors & or screen covers.
