Question for U.S. People

Post by moonpie »

Hi, I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their loved ones and have lots of leftover turkey for sandwiches. My question is - I used to live in the States a long time ago and I don't ever remember getting the Friday after Thanksgiving as a holiday... are they doing that now - or is that a company thing? Just curious, because we watched the news and they mentioned that a lot of U.S. people were shopping for bargains day after Turkey Day.

I don't work the day after Thanksgiving...think its a Company thing too....I was going to suggest that it was Federal Holiday, but the US Postal service was in operation today....

It's not a Federal Holiday, if you want it off, you have to take it off your leave time.

That's nice of your work, Wendy!

It is a state, city and county holiday here. (Not for me, yet again!)

But I have heard of some states taking it away or swapping Lincolns birthday or some other holiday for it.

It should be a holiday, some people have to travel a long way. Me, just from the upstairs to the downstairs, if I'm off that is. :-5
When choosing between two evils, I always like to take the one I've never tried before.
