Stocking Stuffer idea.

Post by Sheryl »

Every year at my MIL's we having stockings. Each family is to bring a stocking stuffer for everyone's stocking. So far every year I've always given the women body lotions or something like that, and the men have always gotten pocket knives or lottery tickets.

This year I want to be more creative and even funny with my gifts. So I'm asking for your suggestions. So do you have any ideas or websites that I might find a great stocking stuffer?

How about a little framed note with 5 things about the person eg. you are loveable, you are special to me because......

:wah: you know, i think my nieces in college could use free samples of laundry detergent.

It's hard because I have 3 women who are older, 6 women in the mid twenties, and a 13 year old girl. Then I have 2 older men, 6 men who in thier twenties, early 30's, and a 15 year old teenage boy.

The little kids are easy! Sugar and more sugar! :wah:

Have you seen the large/huge Remote for the TV

its @ 8" in length & 4" wide. I had to laugh, and almost bought for my husband, but my husband is going deaf - not blind..

Wine jewerly - alittle charm for the wine glass.

I also like those fuzzy, soft slipper socks

You could always get a T-shirt with a funny verse on it - I bought one

"Whatever" from Hawaii. its my sister favorite word

Theres always funny magnets - my sisters, for her attitude

" How 'bout I kick you in the nuts and we'll call it a day".

just a few suggestions

good luck

Tradition suggests oranges but that's a little passée nowadays.

I've bought my daughter a set of pentominoes as a stocking filler but that's just 'cos I'm mean.

I like the idea of fridge magnets for the ladies - and undersized thongs for the men :wah:

With twenty seven to buy you can't think or pay too much - hows about miniatures of their favourite drinks?

Thanks for all the great ideas!

I had to go to Walmart today, and they the cutest toe gloves on sale. So I bought all the ladies a pair. I tried to match colors and patterns to what I know each girl likes.

Now it's just the guys I gotta buy for.

That's a good idea on miniature drinks Bryn. Will have to look and see what I can find. :)

Not sure about what to tell you. What a great way though to exchange presents for such a large crowd! Not too expensive unless you go for something like jewelry but on the other hand you can give something pretty nice.

I was strolling through a craft fair yesterday and saw a booth selling homemade soaps with made with a bee product of some sort-maybe the honey or the wax. I've also seen them made out of other ingredients. I love them and the way they wrap up and they last forever. Plus, for me at least, it's not something I would regularly buy for myself, too expensive. I've given them to others before and they tend to like this gift.

But if you're not into serious this year, hmm, I'll have to think about it for a few.

It doesn't seem expensive. We set a limit of $5 max per stocking stuffer item. But 27 x 5 can be pretty expensive.

Girls are easier cause there are more items out here under 5 dollars that they will use. But it's hard for guys, because you want to get them something they'll use and not end up in a junk drawer somewhere!

Is it that you have to stuff 27 stockings or each family has to stuff everyone's stocking, cuz then that wouldn't be 27 you'd have to give something to  depending on the size of the family

I don't know what kind of stockings you all have but the ones around my house would never hold twentyseven presents unless they were gift certificates or cash, well you get the idea :)

No, no, each family group gives a gift in everyone's stockings. Each person will only get 5 things in their stocking.
