Ways to Meet other Singles

Today it's Online Dating, and many seem to have found their Soul Mate that way. After the death of my first wife and I started dating, I attended several "Singles Night at the Super Market". It was nice to be able to see the opposite sex first hand and be able to converse face to face. Also, the local Zoo had what they called "Singles Night at the Zoo" which was very well attended. Lot's of interesting animals both in the cage and out.:wah:

Finding a partner as a result of online activity still gets people rolling their eyes, whether a dating site was used or the two just came across each other. It doesn't seem to be as bad as telling people you met at a bar though. That one still ends up lowering expectations to about 2% chance of success.

Seems the acceptable way of meeting others still requires that you both know someone in common. Sharing a common interest such as a sport or hobby will give high esteem to the relationship and partnering with a doctor or lawyer still draws no questions as to how they were met except from other women wanting to meet 'one' themselves.

Of course everything I just said relies on caring what other people think, is told from that perspective and actually means nothing except that other people still find entertainment in guessing how long the wedding will last.

Going out anywhere vastly improves the chances, practically speaking, whether that is going out locally or going out into cyberspace.

I just received a message tonite from an online dating thingy I havent looked at since June. He lives locally, and he is a Dentist.... Of all things. I wonder if a dentist could be interested in a florist, landscaper... turned insurance agent.... who discovered she didnt enjoy selling insurance... who is once again waitressing ( in a very nice restaurant) and accepting landscape design projects? How oh how, will I ever describe myself?

It is one of the few things I miss about living in a big city. That kind of thing doesn't happen around here. I'm working on starting a writer's guild/open mic night at a local winery though.

I cooked spaghetti, from scratch for my regular Tuesday night thing. Fed a couple young ladies, my room mate, and have enough to feed the hungry folks at work tomorrow. Got to play with a baby and watched her mother's eyes widen in amazement when I held my hands out and she left Mom to come to me. Haha.

When I say from scratch I mean noodles and all.

It was alright.

It didnt really fall through... I decided to give it up. Im accustomed to clients calling ME, and being happy to see me when I arrive. I cant pressure people, and i do not have the luxury of concentrating on building a business that is not generating an immediate income. I also do not like hearing medical facts about people. Actually, Im really not interested in dating either. So, I dont know why I try now and then to take a half hearted stab at it. I guess its because I think its what I am supposed to do. All I really want is enough money to do whatever I want, whenever I want, for as long as I want to.:wah:
