I think this is incredibly sad...there is often a psychological disorder behind this but I am amazed at how much stuff this person packs into their home. And sadly, when she's gone, it's her son who's going to have to sort it all out.

Haha! Crazy huh! I don't think that's all Xerox paper though. I think all the stuff she buys off ebay is in most of those boxes. Did you see the dust on those paperweights and the coffee tables?? Whoa.

After seeing that, I don't think I'll call hubby a packrat any more. That would drive me insane!

Vector Sigma's access to the Allspark doesn't always include a mass displacement functionality but it can be retroactively granted. This is an obvious candidate scenario.

My Brother's wife's mother is like this....I have never seen her home, but I have been told about it, and this is somewhat like I imagine.
She inherited money from a family member and spent it all on the home shopping network, to the tune of around 40,000....:-5:-5
My messy house is imaculent compared to that!

Oh I felt sick when I read that.
That is terrible. That's such a chunk of money to have spent like that.

Hehe. I kinda thought the same there, Snooze.
I'll tell you what, this has cured me of my eBay habit, that's for sure. I could easily wind up like this, I think.

Unholy!!! Satan must be involved!!! :wah:
I used to work with a guy that was like that!!! He had a 6ft by 8ft work area that was so overly cluttered with stacks of papers, stacks of boxes, 3 extra guest chairs, that the companie's "fire marshall" cited him, as well as his boss, for letting him create such a gross "fire hazzard"!!! I saw his house & 2 car garage, & it looked pretty close to what was in those pictures! Come to find out, He even rented "3" 2 car garages from his neighbors down the street to store sh*t in!!! He also had "27" cats & 4 dogs, living in that squaller with him! He really was sick, & needed help as well!

I was just at that forum lurking around yesterday evening.
I didn't see that lady's house though. My gosh! What will she ever do with all that stuff?
I would like to have her collection of glass paperweights to add to mine, I only have 6.

Actually, the guy was & really turned out to be, a wacko! A few years ago he made the local "newpapers". A few of his neighbors noticed that he had not been seen around the neighborhood for a several months. They began noticing a wicked nasty smell coming from his house when they passed. So they called the police to investigate. They came & would not enter the house, because of the nasty overpowering fumes inside. So they in turn called the HAZMAT unit, who showed up in full HAZMAT gear, air tanks/masks, gloves, boots, the works! Somehow the news media got wind (excuse the punn) of the situation. Come to find out, he just left his house one day, & never returned for 6 months. He must have let the 4 dogs go outside, cause they were gone. However, he left all the cats inside, with all the windows closed, no food, water, nothing. never said anything to anyone. The nasty smell came from some of the "rotted half eaten cats". It seemed some of the stronger cats ate the weaker -smaller ones, & eventually died & rotted as well due to lack of water, & or fresh air! Needless the say, the police issued a warrent for his arrest, for cruelty to animals! To date, He has not been apprehended, & or seen since, it's like he fell off the face of the earth! You never know, maybe he did, he could have drowned in the ocean, & became fish food! Changed his identity, & went abroad. Or. . . . .

Oh God! That's a terrible thing he did!! Those poor cats and dogs!! :-1
You know these people who hoard things or collect things, don't stop at objects. I have a packrat friend who once had 42 cats and 5 or 6 dogs. It's like they think no one can take care of them as well as they can. When they find a new animal who needs a home, they can't stop themselves. We laugh at the material things collected but when I hear stories like this, it reminds me that hoarding is an illness.

Looks like the son will be inheriting a well stocked store. Liquidate...liquidate...
It's probably a safer investment than the stock market. People will always continue to buy 'stuff'.
