Questions for Koan

Post by RedGlitter »

I know I might could have PM'd you but I thought I'd ask here in case anyone else was curious too.

How do you say Koan? Is it "cone" or ko-uhn?" I always say it the second way. Is that wrong?

And something that's been bugging me for quite some time now, what does your signature tag say? I can't read it all.

Thanks!

:yh_tong2

It's two syllables. kō′än′

The full koan in my sig is:

Returning to the Ordinary World

A monk asked Kegon, "How does an enligthtened one return to the ordinary world?" Kegon replied, "A broken mirror never reflects again; fallen flowers never go back to the old branches."

I've heard a few people are afraid of me... I must be doing something right. LOL

I was actually trying to think of a way to let folks know I'm not that scary and couldn't think of a single way to be convincing. :wah:

I do believe we've got us an Ask Koan thread! Woo! :D

So Koan, are you still working on growing your hair? We haven't seen photos of your progress lately....

Are you working on any paintings currently? For anyone who hasn't seen Koan's paintings, you really need to see them. They are amazing.

I have no idea if I can do that LOL... I'm not fond of dresses that can only be worn once. I'll probably come up with something that looks really funky but I can walk around in it... then I put the veil on when I get there.
