Flat Screen TV

Post by Lon »

I bought a HUGE flat screen TV this morning and had it delivered right after lunch. Big problem though, it's 11 feet high and 18 feet wide. My ceiling is only 10 high. I had them take it back and I settled for a 32 inch flat screen TV that really is more practical given the size of the room. Not only that, I saved $28,789 dollars. It's not every day you can get savings like that.:D

Lon is far too intelligent than to go out and purchase a TV screen that is taller than the height of his room. He would definately measure first. Also 30,000.00$ would buy a TV big enough for a projection room. You guys fall for everything.

Do they sell those with replacement 11' high doorways and include the cost of rebuilding the entrance wall?

There's a bit of a competition going on but so far the world's biggest TV is 110" wide and about 5' tall.

http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/08/jvcs ... nds-of-hd/

valued at $53K USD

A guy I work with bought a projection TV and screen that fit one entire wall in his living room. Everyone went to his house for the big games! He loved talking about it.

A couple of months later he had to borrow money from me to pay his mortgage. He was four months behind and they were threatening to start foreclosure.I tried to reason with him that he should sell the TV, because if they took the house he couldn't very well live in the tv... there is just no reasoning with men sometimes..:wah:

My mother-in-law is a resident in the nursing home where I work. I went to buy her a 42 inch flat screen plasma television set for her room, only to discover that it wouldn't fit into my Caliber without putting it on its side.

So I settled for a 42 inch flat screen HD television for just under a thousand, including the wall mount.

True story -

I bought an enormous tv, got it home to realise, like the original poster - It's too big for the height of the ceiling!

Called the store, they had obviously been thrilled to sell something so expensive, so they refused to take it back.

In the end we pulled the house down and rebuilt it around the television.

Walnut fudge icecream, anyone? :)

Almost 2 years ago I bought a 32'' HD ready LCD flat screen. It cost me €1,400. Now the same TV is selling for about €800.
