The Cinnamon Challenge

It is said to be impossible to eat a tablespoon of cinnamon powder by itself. From looking at these youtube videos, I agree. And won't be attempting it.

Anyone care to take the challenge? :wah:

i'm not sure what is so horrible, maybe it's bitter?Although cinnamon is used as a sugar substitute.

But to eat a lot of dry stuff with no liquid is just asking for trouble, whether its cinnamon or something else.

Now watch some idiot try it with a tablespoon of chili powder or something and be badly injured.

Spices hurt a lot if they get into your lungs and throat.

I remember once my ex was cooking, and i walked into the kitchen and breathed in before i realised that he had put into a frying pan some spices to make a curry, but was cooking them with no oil or anything. I had my head out of the window trying to breathe and retching and gasping for air for about 20 minutes. It was utterly frightning and not something I would have thought possible.

I remember when my son was little he spilled a whole can of black pepper on top of my stove. He thought he was being my good little helper. I thought I had gotten it all cleaned up. However, somehow some got into my oven. That night when I turned on the oven, it was like someone had sprayed pepper spray in my kitchen. We had to open windows, set up fans, and vacate the house for a couple of hours. :(

that first you tube video, is a doctor doing the cinnamon challenge. :wah:

This kind of thing makes me uneasy.

One of my biggest fears is choking as i've written in another post.

At school they used to have dry biscuit eating contests with money going to charity and everyone would find it really funny but not me.

Also i think eating contests where people have to eat lots of things in a given time are dangerous.

It just isnt clever to put yourself in a position where you could choke.

in any case if you have eaten something which burns, you should take milk, not water - water makes it worse. That's why the indians eat yoghurt with thier curry.

i cannot believe the number of videos there are of people doing this - you would think that they would think twice when they see the effect it has on other people.

Indians didn't have yogurt. They had no refrigeration in their Teepee's.
