a solid table and 4 chairs which would have been £200 but was reduced to £50, and i asked for a further reduction as it was the only one left and had been on the sales floor for a long time, so i got it for £43.

Also i wanted a garden swing with cushions which would usually be around £100, i got it in the sale for £29.

yes, great, but if you remember what this summer has been like, the swing has sat in the garden and i have had no use of it so far

:-1

i like this thread, i'm trying to remember some more.

Once in a discount shop (you know the type of place, piles of things all over the place) i found packs of curtains for ~£5.But not knowing what quality they were (sealed packs) i only bought 2.Imagine my surprise to find they were perfect quality with tiebacks included! but they didn't have any more when i went back.

I think i like the everyday kind of bargain best though - like when you go grocery shopping and find bread reduced to 10p, or something like that.

That's ok, we shall just talk amongst ourselves.

I think in a way it's a been a pity that there were so many programmes showing what to look out for at boot fairs, sellers know much more what the value is of everything so you are less likely to find something rare. But good for the sellers that they wont give away something valuable.
