.........that amused you a lot as a kid.

Goodness knows where this thought came from, I just remembered.

When we were very small kids, on special occassions we had "kid chocolate" and the adults had "after 8" chocolates, which we were not allowed to have.In case you don't know, the elegant green box was placed on the table and adults would take the chocolates out individually, they came in black sleeves, like old 45 record sleeves, but much smaller.Sometimes they would take the chocolate and leave the black sleeve in the box.

Much fun was had the next morning when clearing the table when us kids would feel all the black sleeves still in the box to see if a chocolate had been inadvertently left - more often than not the last one in the corner was overlooked.

My mum used to put the chocolate decorations on the tree and we were supposed to wait till Jan 1st for her to share them out between my teo elder brothers and my self. We used to carefully undo the underneath of the chocolate, let it slip out then carefully pat the foil back into position. They were mostly bell shaped or baubles and father xmas's etc..Come Jan 1st we would all sit around the tree trying to stifle our giggles as our mum grabbed the empty choccy wrappers:wah::wah::wah:

We also had a BT trim phone and my mum had to put a lock on it as my brothers were ringing up huge bills but my bro's found a certain hair clip unlocked the phone and my mum still doesnt know they used to pick it lol..

Decadent memories of a block of rasberry ripple or vanilla ice cream in a tall glass topped with American Cream Soda...mMMMMmmmm:p

i can relate to the chocolate decorations story chezzie, i had forgotten about that - we used to go to the back of the tree, and eat them and work our way to the front, and the more we ate the more we had to space out those remaining to fill in the gaps, and our mother would say she had been sure there were more than that to begin with!

The TRIMphone - it stands for Tone Ringer Illuminated Model - was designed by Martyn Rowlands in 1964. It was meant to be a luxury phone available to rent for extra cost. A sleek modern design with the headset positioned N-S instead of E-W. It suited the GPO's modern aspirations at the time.

The trimphone was really the first modern telephone. It was the first GPO telephone not to have a bell - it had an electronic warbler - much imitated by birds - or is it the other way around? The dial was illuminated - it glowed in the dark, thanks to radioactivity. The phone had a long lead so you could move around the room whilst having a conversation, if you wanted to. The trimphone was available in 3 colour schemes - two-tone blue (shown), grey and green or grey and white. It was not really loud and brash like some sixties products - but more subtle and sophisticated - as befitted an upmarket product.

The trimphone was offered on trail for a to a limited number of subscribers in 1965. The phone shown here is the original model 712. Electronically it is very similar to the red phone above. Note the lettered dial. All figure dialling was not universal in 1967 when this phone was first supplied

I just tasted some tesco mint icecream - it was on offer, 2 for £3, it is disgusting, I am either going to have to chuck the whole tub away or drown it in chocolate sauce.Bleeuuurrrkkkhhhh.

Somerfield do a triple chocolate 2 tubs for £3 and its devine

Chocolate icecream, choc sauce and flakes of dark,milk and white chocolate spinkled all over the top:p:p:p
