Scottish hyming slang

Post by Chookie »

I don't want to get you all excited, so I'm stopping at B. In my next post, I'll just give the term. I'd like to see how you lot define it.

Here goes anyway:-

A

Aberdeen – mean, tight-fisted

Aberfoyle – motor oil

Alan Hansen – Dancing

Alan Rough – Guff (total crap)

Armadillo – Pillow (The Scottish Exhibition Centre looks a bit like an armadillo).

B

Bass Rock – ****

Bay City Rollers – Molars

Ben Nevis – Crevice

Berti Vogts – Goats

Billy Bunter – Grunter (another term for a two-bagger)

Boat of Garten – Farting

Boy Scout – Nowt (Nothing/Zip/Nada)

Burke & Hare – Fair (as in just/ equitable)
An ye harm none, do what ye will....
