I'm waiting for someone to pop up with "our lord god." That seems to be the theme in a lot of threads lately.

You hold the key.
But where did you get the key from?
And do you use it, to unlock anything?
Or do you leave the door shut, and bolt lock it too?
Happiness comes in many forms: the feeling of accomplishment, the joy of a child's smile, knowing you got your chores done for the night.
Yes, Snooze, some believe the key was given to them from God. It is what we do with it, that matters to ourselves. No matter where you believe the key came from.
I will use my key every day. A new glance at nature, something new I write upon the printed page, or a good laugh here among friends. On bad days, I will lock the door, and wait it out.
It is a good day, I unlocked many things. I hope I will again tomorrow.

I'm not crazy about metaphors that use physical items such as locks and keys to describe something metaphysical and often ephemeral like happiness.
No offense to anyone with that statement, but I think it would be more like a warm ocean breeze or the smell of orange blossoms or even the sound of wind chimes. Something impossible to grasp in your hand, but lovely to experience just the same.

I think you have it, Snooze.
Yes, the use of the words "lock" and "key" in a way have positive and negative meaning.
The warm ocean breeze would feel very nice this time of year...:-6

Oh, that is too cold.
Snooze, I am thinking of the beaches all the time, and miss them. I still have not seen an Atlantic beach since I've been here. My New Year's goal is to have 3-4 days this summer at the beach with my family.

It wouldn't be so bad if I had some decent gloves (I keep losing the damn things!) My hands get so cold, it feels like I dipped them in boiling water. I can strongly NOT recommend Isotoner gloves in cold weather like this.

Keep a spare pair of gloves-but I know knitted gloves are harsh on the hands. I just don't loose mine, I guess I'm afraid of the next time I go out-with gloves, scarf and earmuffs. I look silly, but I am at least a little warm.
