bird flu

some swans just died in dorset and tested positive for bird flu.

I'm wondering why this happens every so often but doesnt go much further - will an outbreak ever occur or just these isolated pockets of infection?

on 3 occassions now i've found myself inside therestriction zone of a bird flu outbreak, its somewhat worrying when you see all the official activity and the police stop you and ask where you are going and check your car, etc.

2 cows in a field, one says, i'm really worried about mad cow disease,

the other replies, good job I'm a squirrel.
