Drugs in schools

I just cannot believe the way things are now. How can a parent know their child is safe at school

A neighbouring school district now has its own state trooper patrolling the hallways, all day, everyday. He made 3 drug related arrests, in 2 days!

The cubicle doors have been removed in the bathroom to stop kids doing drugs in the bathrooms.

In our school district a boy was arrested, at school, for having and using pot. He is 11 FFS

These are not city schools - they are respectable rural school !! WTF

When, where and how will this end

Time to home school!

Taking doors off the public johns...stupid idea. Why punish the regular kids who appreciate privacy? Dumbasses.

I know. Josh won't go to the bathroom at school.

They have a walkway to the school from the town, apparently the kids do drugs there before and after school. Why aren't the police patrolling this too.

I keep thinking about home school - trouble is he would never see or interactive with anyone if I do that.

But then again, that vs the drug thing

I don't know, Pheas....I would think there'd be a way to incorporate interaction with friends and other homeschooled kids. People do it all the time. Drug deals at 11? That's obscene.

Those precauctions went into effect in the schools here, years ago.

Which is why in the beginning of the 10th grade I allowed my son to enroll in a home learning school. It worked out great. Lack of socialization is not a reason to stay in a drug and war zone. Rest assured their will be other avenues for those skills. Actually socialization with peers is one of the greatest reasons why young people get involved with drugs. Peer pressure and influence etc.....

That is why I like living where I live, a small town smack dab in the bible belt. Everybody knows everybody, and kids don't get away with much. The school district is small and parents and teachers know each other well.

If we should ever have to move to a bigger town, I probably would homeschool.
