Which Airlines have you .....
BA - although the staff were snotty they were efficient.
Qantas - friendliest staff ever!
Air Canada - fine, good staff.
Air Alaska - nice small airline
Monarch - smallest plane ever, no legroom and we had to pay for earphones (14 years ago though)
and various charter planes.

I forgot, we flew Air Canada on our trips there. We were pleased with our first flight with them, but then I think they went down hill a little. Still friendlier than BA.

I was talking to someone only last night who used to be a Captain on 747's for BA until health caused her to retire.
I'm not the most confident of flyers and I was fine until she dropped into conversation 'taking off from Miami in a hurricane, a bit hairy' and 'when we had to dump fuel before our emergency landing' then I decided to change the subject!!

:wah::wah: Flying scares me too. I once flew to Canada on my own, I was so nervous I talked the ears off the poor Canadian guy sat next to be -
well I usually talk the ears off people anyway, but this was non-stop for 8 hours, I bet he was glad when we landed :wah:

Which Airlines have you .....
My flying thus far ( and Ive done quite a bit) has all been domestic. Except for my one trip to England. Which if I ever go again will definately be on British Airways. After the controlled crash last week. It came to my attention that this airline has the best maintained planes in the air, and extremely well trained flight crews. The pilot prevented what could have been a huge tradgedy.

Thomascook - cattle class, nasty never again.
Egyptair - Luxury, even go as far to say fantastic.
Virgin - All in all the best.
Easyjet - brill! Bit of a squeeze but you get what you pay for and I didn't pay much for flights to Rome and got flights booked to egypt with them in a couple of months time for only 200 quid!

The woman I was talking to said BA's standards are one of the highest! (reassuring)

Thai Airways, that was hugely enjoyable, it's almost performance art.

Which Airlines have you .....
I would say that Lufthansa was a very good airline, very well run, typically efficient and German, which in an airline is a really good thing. I think I remember that British Airways are OK no problems with them in my experience anyway, I was never on virgin so I don't know about them. British Midland are like Ryanair, cheap but not very cheerful. Any time I had to deal with any of the American Airlines like Delta or AA they were fine as well, no problems there.
Aer Lingus is quite good and its nice because its Irish so its familiar and reassuring, which is nice when you are traveling at 500 mph in an aluminum tube at 30,000 ft, but Ryanair I don't like very much, not because its badly run its just that budget airtravel is not much fun and Dublin airport is a bit of a pain as well as its so overstretched, though it has done a good job of bringing air fares down in Ireland, so we as a nation are not sure whether we should give Michael O'Leary a medal or shoot him for being so successful. I've only flown on SouthWest. Not sure if it's a good thing or not, but I notice they start serving alcohol within 30 minutes of take off. :-2

I fly Air New Zealand Internationally quite often and find that even in coach seating they pour your Scotch or Gin from big bottles rather than giving the small bottles. So civilized don't you know. Plus, they have a great assortment of excellent New Zealand wines. 12 1/2 hours from Los Angeles to Auckland, three movies, two and a half meals, five trips to the toilet and voila, you're there.
