Driving me crazy!!!!
My laptop keeps missing letters, jumping back/forward in sentences and completely missing out words. Anyone know why - is it fixable or do I have to get a new laptop

I don't know how to hook up a keyboard - it would be worth a try, then I could work out if it is software or hardware. Do you know how I can do this? :-6

My un-educated guess is you need a converter for your usb port into your laptop from the manual keyboard...if you came down to VA I could get my boss to look at it fer ya!!:wah:

Your problem may be different then mine. So please don't take my diagnosis. I just know enough to bearly turn one on.
Like Chezzie said... If I type too fast It sometimes misses letters. Or if I let my hand or fingers touch the friger controll in the middle, It will totaly take me out of the thread or even the entier forum.
It's a touchy little thing.... I kind of think of it as my new little pet. :p

What office software are you using? I've had a similar problem-doing a repair fix with the office installation fixed it.
Driving me crazy!!!!
My computer at work does that.
But not on ALL software. Just some of them. We changed out the keyboard (told my super that was not the problem since it didn't happen on all the software, but, being a man. . . :-5) and that didn't help.
One piece of software cannot keep up with our typing. We have to wait for it to catch up to see if we made any mistakes. Wait for it to "OK" certain tasks, wait for it to "Save" tasks, wait, wait, wait. All this waiting while someone is talking to me and this old brain trying to not forget what was said before the puter decides to catch up. Oh yeah, and it skips letters.
When you're under a time constraint, your first notion is to do everything quickly. So, I have a habit of hitting enter before I look at the screen. So, as I'm waiting for results, I see that it skipped a letter and now I have to wait for it to go where I wanted it and then go back and t y p e . r e a l l y . s l o w.:-5
At first I thought it was the internet based software, but then we noticed that other internet based software doesn't do that. Who knows? I give up and write most everything when it pitches a fit.

When choosing between two evils, I always like to take the one I've never tried before.
