Chocolate
Im spoiled. I grew up eating very good chocolate. My grandparents would come on holidays, with their arms loaded. The big holiday back then was Easter. So.. There were chocolate bunnies, crosses, and hollow eggs filled with jelly beans. Lofts was a popular choclatier back then. They are out of business. An aunt worked for Fanny Farmer ( They are gone also ) Godiva opened their first store on fifth Ave, in Manhattan when I was 20 years old.
It was a very big deal. You could buy singles from the glass case. Once I tasted the rasberry creme wrapped in dark chocolate, I was sunk. My tongue would never tolerate waxy, cheap chocolate ever. When my kids were little, relatives who didnt know better would bring them chocolate from the five and ten. As soon as they left, I would throw it in the garbage. Chocolate became chic in the 80s. Like good wine, the art of producing chocolate is written about, constantly. Belgian chocolate competes with the chocolates produced here, and all over the world. Lindt is also a biggie.
Dove has become the mediocre, most popular chocolate, pushing Hersey and Nestle to the side. Along with flowers, chocolate is love. Consumers will spend thousands of dollars on chocolate for Valentines Day. Chocolate compliments wine, it is a comfort food, it produces endorphins, its good, in small quantities for the heart, it is an olive branch, it is a luxury. It is a little bit of heaven, in a world filled with chaos. Soldgiers at war, carried little pieces of chocolate, for children they encountered in war. Chocolate makes memories. My favorite form of chocolate, is chocolate mousse. With whipped cream, if its made well. Chocolate is a small luxury that almost everyone can indulge in. That makes it sweeter, that makes it fine. Give a piece of chocolate, to a loved one, or a friend, it will make them smile.

Nothing beats a good piece of chocolate, especially if it's good quality, and even better if it's of the white variety - my personal favourite! :-6

I have chocolate........issues. Its not something I like talking about. Its just so nice, and we have so many kinds of nice Chocolate in Europe. There is Belgian Chocolate, British Chocolate, German Chocolate, Swiss Chocolate, we even make nice Irish chocolates here, I mean in France they have chocolate bread for breakfast, so obviously I have gone over there to assess the situation, and its fairly chocolatey I have to admit.

I owe my excellent health, good looks and longevity to dark chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner.:yh_wink

You ought to have been in North Arkansas at the weekend Weeder, there was a Chocolate Lover's Festival in Harrison. I got into the habit of reading the Daily Times last year and it's their lead story today. There are few papers anywhere in the world that are so interesting, I'll probably end up retiring there.

From Thornton's, Weeder. You would love the Hotel Chocolat shop in Plymouth.
You mentioned Caramac, Chezzie! The only way to eat it is to break it up into tiny pieces and savour every one.
