I've survived yet another cold snap...

Post by minks »

the term "when Hades freezes over" comes to mind....

yep that is why I have been away!!

We spent 5 days submerged in -50 temps here in Cowtown. NOT FUN AT ALL!!! I kid you not it was that darn cold... the actual temps sat at -30 and then we have a wind chill factored in and it drops the temp another 20 degrees. Cars were frozen, people were frozen, our internet at work literally moved at a pace of a fat man running through jello because our server room is kept in the coldest place possible. We were running our cars for 20-30 minutes morning noon and nite just so they would actually function for us. Crazy and wow just imagine this... I have at least 3.5 more months of winter left... yipee:thinking::mad:

The coldest day that I can remember for me was in Chicago...walking to school around 2 miles away in 14-below temperature. I think I was 13. We girls had to wear slacks under our dresses to keep our legs warm. I was so glad to get to that warm school that morning.:wah:

Yes minksy it was cold here too. That kind of cold hurts and the wind cuts right through you. The good news is I went to a motorcycle show today and expect to be running again in hopefully 6-7 weeks.

Oh wait...thats good news for me not for you.

Sorry.

I noticed that overnight -50 on Google Weather as it was happening. Wow, I thought. I'm sure you know how to stay safe but keeping comfortable can't be easy.

I said to my daughter, ‘guess how cold it is in Alberta?’

She says: ‘-50’

I say: ‘yes’

She says ‘no way, I was only trying to be funny..’

It's an odd week all round. There's just been an earthquake in Nevada at Tonopah Junction. Do we know anyone in Nevada?
