ok, this may be a slightly odd complaint, but my computer for some unknown reason has decided to start typing backwards...

as in: 'hello' will turn out 'olleh'

why??! I'm guessing it will sort itself out if I restart, but why are computers so odd? I didn't do anything to suggest I wanted it to be wierd, but it just randomly changed the direction of the letters...

and yes, this post has taken a long time to write!

Try another keyboard - if a reboot doesn't solve it.

Weird problem, but a search seems to indicate it's not uncommon.

There seems to be a bug in Firefox that can cause this. This forum seems to offer a couple of useful suggestions. The links in post # 5 there look like they would help : http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1260866

Freetobeme's suggestion about replacing the keyboard seems to be another frequent suggestion to fix it .

yup it was just in Firefox, and restarting sorted it out. Strange though... Hope it doesn't happen again anyway because this is a laptop so no new keyboards for me!

you got infected by a virus, restart your computer and press F8 key whne the screen is black for 3 to 8 seconds and wait, when its done chose witht the arrow " start as the alst time it was working correctly/normaly" or something like that... and then it shows the driver you have, press return key, and your computer now start normaly, and you shouldnt have anymore problems.

whith F8 key you can start your computer in error saved mode, which alow you to avoid any kind of virus who might have infected your computer, and in fact all antivirus scanning should be done in that mode or they are caduque..

try just to put your computer when it worked normal last and it will know when that reverse thing file entered your computer and will start it as it was before that malicious file entered your system..

there is so many malwares and virus running at the moment you wont beleive it!!

hope it helped..:)

I forgot maybe the above isnt clear anough, when you restart, or stop then start, you have to press F8 key, before you get the welcome and beofre your XP start.. the screen must still be balck.. so that if you use the restart button, you have to press the key F8 as soon as the conenction to the screen shows its cut.. or it will be too late. if you miss once just reboot again until you get your bios mode or DOS mode.

you cant use the mouse in this mode , only the arrows and return key, but thats easy.

if your antivirus couldnt stp it then oyu are into deep.. you can run a scanning before doing the baove, first, and if it found it then you dont have to do that, but now there is a lot of stuff running around and who cant be stoped by antivirus..

I dot know why, even several months old malware pass through..

also check that: clic on "start" then clic on " run" then type " msconfig" clic on ok, and then clic on "start" label, and check if any of the programm on the list who start with your computer are things you know about.. the 3-5 first are form oyur computewr, dont touch it, but look at the latest.. anything with "gina" in it is a big bugg, also with audio in their file names.. but best will be for you to run a scaning.

Anything that you see on this start is a rootkit and rootkit are hard to remove for antivirus..

if you found soemrhing and are sure its a vilain, then remove the green cross in the check box, and clic on apply, and restart your computer.

it willa sk to do so automatically.

but best is to do first as i told you with the f8 key that always come in handy when things are bad and worse.. :-5

:p have lots of fun doing it, and learn as you go! :-6:driving:

You can but a simpler solution is to attach a USB keyboard to your laptop and bingo you now have 2 keyboards. :p
