Hello all, this a a very sensitive issue that easily makes some short fused people to start spitting fire but I hope it will not be the case here. My opinion regarding this issue is that Isreal is not bad, but doing what it must do to survive. Going down history lane, it was her Arab nieghbors that first attacked Isreal immediately after its formation but Isreal emerged victorious and occupaid their lands. No one knows what would have been the situation of the Jewish state if it was defeated during the 6 day war. Now, the Palestinians cry oppression but thier militants don't know the language of dialogue. How do you negotiate with a person that celebrates the death of your people? Why won't you build a wall when your citizens are constantly under attack? I am not saying that Isreal is completely free from blame but most of the Isreali offensive are retalaliations to Palestinian attacks. While the arab militants gladly kill Isreali women and children, the Isrealis only go for armed militants unless under error that we hear them killing innocent Arabs. It is impossible for isreal to know whom to trust as a suicide bomber could be a child, a farmer, a woman or a person you least expect. In this regard it will be unfair for us to expect Isreal to fold her arms while her citizens are attacked by Arab militants. I am not naive of the fact that there some Arabs that want to follow the path of dialogue but unforunately, the militants always make things difficult for both sides. The world saw the how the oppressive and saggregative apartheid regime ruled in South Africa, but we never hear of suicide bombings by the oppressed Africans (the blacks) but gradually through dialogue, we saw the end of the apartheid regime and now the Africans are holding the mantle of leadership. It is my opinion that if only the Arabs will let go all forms of terrorism and sit and talk with the isrealis, the problem would have been over long before now.
