Idolizing motherhood? Probably a notion I got from Tom Lehrer which explained a lot about that part of the world to me at an early age.

I saw Juno recently and it struck me that more and more frequently, mothers are being shown abandoning their children. It happens folks. Being a mother does not automatically mean acting like one.

All I know is my own experience, from the day my baby was born he knew me.
If he was crying all I would have to do is put my hand on his cheek and he would go right to sleep. His father could never do anything like that! Their bond grew after he was born and now he thinks the world of his daddy.

It really surprised me when I first moved to PA on how many children from a divorced family actually live with their dads.
Also divorce in general seems a lot higher. It seems like a child that still lives with both parents is in a minority here.

Thats all true, have you also noticed how more daddies do the school run these days. I can honestly say, more Dads pick up and drop off their children at our school than Mums which I thinks great.
The only difference with new borns and mums and dads I can see is that a mother can breast feed and a father cant, other than that they can provide everything for the child a mum can and some can do it better...:-6
