So many questions :-3
I use the "New posts" button, if there are any posts since you last read, it will show you.
Dont worry, you'll soon pick it up.
Good luck and welcome. :-6

You might try using the "Today's posts" in the green bar at the top
of the page, under where it says "Conversations of life"... unless
I'm looking for something specific and have a key word or whatever,
I usually just use today's posts!!
Happy browsing!

One other thing to mention, when you do open a thread, you can use the
little green frog to the left, if you hold your mouse over it, it will say
"View first unread" and you click and voila, it takes you to the first post
you haven't read!!

I just hit 'todays posts'. Threads that you have posted in will have the blue tick (umm check mark). You could also use quick links, to view just threads you have posted in :-6

I use the "Today's Post" most of the time that way you can see most all the posts that are active.

I'm another person to add to the "Today's Post" clicking action!!
If you want to find posts that you've responded to and can't find them quickly, you can click on "My Replies" or even your threads are in the "My topics" category.
I hope I didn't confuse you, I know it took me some time to get used to it, and then when I did people were probably hoping I was still confused!!:wah::wah:
If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask!:-6

Well to continue on in this vein, then... to the FAR left, where what looks
like a little "envelope" is, if you've posted in that thread, hold your mouse
over the little arrow, and it will tell you just HOW MANY posts you have
in the thread!

What's the best way to navigate these forums?
Way back, when I was first here I set things up so the threads come up back to front. So when I click on a thread I automatically have the last post show up.
What's the best way to navigate these forums?
I look at the top right Private Messages count and deal with anything there. Not that I get many.
Next I use WonderWendy's trick - I click My Replies and use valerie's green frog by the topic title to make my way into all the bolded threads I've been talking in, then cycle round by replying as needed and then clicking My Replies again until nothing's bold.
Then Today's Posts will show me all the stuff that's happened since I was last here and I can join in with those. Again, bolded threads are those with posts in that I've not seen yet and valerie's green frog by the thread title takes me to where I'd last got to.
Then when I've done I click Mark Forums Read so anything bolded when I come back is more recent.
I've three buttons added to my personal bookmark toolbar (in Firefox - there's something like it to do with Favourites in Internet Explorer):
http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/onlin ... p=200&ua=1
That shows me who's online most recently
http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/membe ... 200&page=1
That shows me who's joined recently
http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/searc ... o=getdaily
That takes me into FG's Today's Posts, it saves me scrolling back to the top of the page to find the site hyperlinks.
If they work for you, you can drag and drop them onto your own toolbar.

In a like vein, if you click on the post count for a thread it gives you a breakdown of the number of posts for each poster.
