Oh my lol
My five year old wants her ears pierced. She has been nagging me to let her have it done for a year now. She's saved up some money and wants it done tomorrow. So seeing as me and her Dad aren't together anymore I thought I'd better text and ask him if he has any objections.
I got this response
' Maybe one ear to start if fine with that perhaps dad take her for 2nd'
:-2 is he on this planet or what :wah::wah::wah:

Later when she wants to have DAD tattooed, he can take her for the DA (as in dumb ass) and you can take her the next day for the other D.

:wah: Maybe when she sees some jeans she likes, you can buy a leg each.
So if Mummy allows them to hurt you (big meany Mummy), and you don't mind, the rest of the treat will be all mine

He can go with you and your daughter to the piercing, wait in the lobby while one ear is being done, then come in while the other ear is being pierced.

You're kidding, yes, most responsible parents would put aside all hatred etc to take her together, not this one, he can't bear to be any where near me.
She'll get them both done tomorrow. He can take her for any other piercings :wah:

5? Oh my is right!
Havent heard it said that maybe she's too young to do either ear at this tender age! (IMHO) Oh well Guess I'm from the old school. At least she didn't get them as an infant, like I've seen some babies have.

"Old School" here too, Cars. My daughter, now 40 years old, has never forgiven me for not allowing her to have her ears pierced until she was in her mid teens. But times change for us oldies
and Betty's lovely little daughter will look a treat :-6

I've held her off for a year, a few of her friends already have theirs done and she has saved her own money to do this. She's had a talk from me about it, and a friend who is a nurse has told her all about cleaning her ears afterwards. She has taken it all on board and still wants to go ahead. Now, could someone volunteer to come with me and hold my hand. :wah:

its a guy thing miss bettyboop ...
let me try to explain to you the rationale behind your daughter's father's response to your text ... and i must say that 99% of the women i know wouldn't even have bothered to text their ex about such a thing ... so you are obviously a really really nice lady ...
so ... the reason for his reaction saying "have one ear done ... "
its his way of saying ... "hey i want some control over what my little five year girl decides to do with her life ... even though you and i aren't together anymore i still want to be able to be part of any decision making that affects my daughter.."
maybe he's thinking ... "if bettyboop has texted me about it then maybe i should respond by showing some interest in what happens to our daughter instead of just going ... okay whatever..."
of course i have no way of knowing whether this would be in his character or not ...
but its just a thought ... only a thought!

Control being the relevant word here Jj not necessarily over our daughter! :wah:

Awww I bet she is very proud of her new earrings. :-4 Now she will be looking at all the pretty earrings you can get. There are some really cute ones.
When my daughter had hers done, they had 2 people who did both ears at the same time. She looked a little shocked when they did it, and her bottom lip wobbled a bit. :wah:

Same here, I thought she was going to cry but she didn't, she's carrying a mirror around with her at the moment, need to check every two minutes that they're still there :wah:

I know Boop, it's hard to keep saying no when they're always asking & asking, over & over again. I was just thinking out loud of how I wanted to keep my "little girls", "little" for as long as I possibly could.
They grow up so darn fast it's scary! Next, she'll be pushing for "lipstick"! Blink a few times, & she'll be dating! :wah:

I think my son might be quite glad to give her away at the moment :wah:
Over a year on now from having had her ears done, she's looked after them really well and is the only child amongst a large group that had them done at about the same time. No infections and no taking them out and letting the holes grow over. We have discovered that she can only wear expensive earrings though
Wish she could be this good in all areas
