Though I'd seen it coming it still breaks my heart. I'll spend the rest of the day wondering what I might have done to prevent this disaster from happening. "What if?" "If only..." I will be a tortured soul adrift in the sea of possibilities and self doubt.

Nothing will look the same because my eyes will be tainted by a dark cloud, wondering what might have been. The birds may sing but I won't hear them. In fact, why do the birds go on singing? Why do the stars shine above? Don't they know it's the end of the world. It ended when I lost your love.
