Bomb Scare this morning..

Post by guppy »

I live in a small town in the south ...this morning someone called in bomb threats to the highschool and both middleschools..everybody got evacuated..the automated call system called all parents with the news..parents went and picked up their kids..it was chaos...the sucky part is this happend five minutes befoe the bell rang to start school this morning..kids were hearded out of the highschool to the nearby rec center fields..all school drivers and teachers and employee had to leave their vehicles in the parking lot..i just got a call while ago stating the vehicles are cleared to pick up at eight pm tonight..sheeeeeesh....

some retarded bored kid is probably gonna go to federal prison for a badly placed idea of a joke..

after the special forces went in and searched the schools..the news said a box was found in the highschool...no word yet on if it was really a bomb or not..

Nice to see you Guppy. But how scary for you all. Okay afterwards to laugh, but gee, it's enough to give any parents nightmares.

Awesome, Guppy. I'm heading over to France in a couple of weeks - it will be great to see the family again.

I am glad it turned out all right, the automated call system is a good thing. Parents need to know what is going on, and evacuating to the nearby field sounds like they have a good emergency plan in place.

They will fine tune the chaos part, and set up an orderly system if parents want to check out their children from school. Unfortunately, we have had quite a few bomb threats this year, and we have a system where parents can check out their kids from school.

Wow guppy...that's so good it was just a scare. Kids just don't realize the consequences of their actions. Luckily, we haven't had a bomb scare.....yet...

Our school has changed a lot lately....every since the 6th graders (12 yr. olds)were moved to the intermediate school (13-14 yr. olds) things have become more peaceful. Our kids are very young and immature, and that's nice...they act like kids and just enjoy life. Most of our kids are not into drama yet...thank goodness:-6.

you are very lucky KE.. we have always had a good school..one to be proud of ..but last year it started to change..i dont know what is going on entirely..there are articles in the paper all the time talking about all the problems out there..something i never saw before..it supposed to convert to an acadamy next year..there is talk of it losing its accredidation..my daughter says several gangs are acting up..something we have never had trouble with before..times are definitely changing..the small town atmosphere is slowly slipping away..

I'm so sorry about that Guppy...that began to happen to our school a few years ago....kids were becoming "gang-like" talking trash and wanting to beat up kids and teachers....Thank goodness they're gone now and all is good. Hope our school stays like this. I don't think that we have one troubled child in our whole school now:-6

I hope that your district takes back your school....Your lovely little town deserves it. Good luck:-4

Its good to hear you all are okay Guppy. :-6

You are so right about things changing. Our school district is very small, and considered to be good. But now they have drug problems too, with a 'lock down' last week amongst other problems :(
