A chance for change...

Memphis's racist, crooked mayor resigned this afternoon after 16 years, SIXTEEN YEARS, in office!!!!!!!!!!

I know that most of you could care less, but for us Memphians, this is a VERY GOOD day!

Officially, he says he wants to pursue other opportunities.

Unoffically, he's being investigated for shady dealings with a contractor.

Either way, he's an ass.

Sounds like everybody's hometown mayor:wah: We've had the same mayor for I don't even know how long and nobody ever opposes him. He'll die there someday and I'm sure the town will put up a big fuss and his family will probably want the town blvd named for him and of course, a statue.

Here's the deal on that:

He had his hands in the pockets and vice versa of all the right people. He also was able to use his racist campaign to divide the city & get the vote of the uninformed by playing that card. His campaign slogan was "Shake the Haters Off." No, I'm not kidding.

In the last election there were two opposing candidates. Combined, they got way more votes, but not enough by themselves to win office. So, technically, the majority of Memphis did want him out, but we couldn't put all our efforts into one candidate.

He was so bad. We are #1 in crime in the NATION. King Willie (as he is known around town) said that it was not his problem. He also said that if there were Memphians who didn't like it, they could just move away.

UPDATE:

Now King Willie has announced that he will NOT resign his position if he does not get the Superintendent of the School position.

I hate him. I hate him. I hate him.

How can I get him out of office? The public has to have a say in this. The man obviously has no interest in actually mending this badly damaged city. His previous supports feel duped, his opponets feel infuriated... HELP!
