Josh and I have decided to adopt a toddler after I gradutate. We have no idea how to get the process started. We assume that if we want to adopt in 2 years, we should go ahead and get the ball rolling now.
Anybody got some advice to point us in the right direction?
(We are soooooo excited :-6)

We're going to adopt!
I have a friend that adopted a newborn last summer and she was so very happy with the agency she went through. The process took less than 6 months, and I was SHOCKED....always thought it took years, and I'm sure with some agencies it does.
I do remember her telling me that Texas is one of the states that once Mom & Dad (guardian) signs the papers, it is a done deal, there is no going back to court later if they change thier minds.

My step sis went to Russia for her child and a co worker just got back from Guatemala or Honduras for their adopted child. Dont know if this is a trend or it beats cutting through red tape and long waits here.
