I lost my job with the post office a few days ago. I was in my probationary period.
I did my best but I made the wrong mistakes.....its a pretty rough crowd there.
Anyway I called my last employer and it looks like they have a place for me but its not set in stone yet.
Ive got two interveiws tommorrow and theyre looking for an immediate hire.
Heres my question...I need to keep my options open in case my last job falls through (I should know about that by tommorrow but you never know)
I dont know what to say if Im offered a job ?
Should I accept and if my old boss calls then just call the new one and say thanks but Ive taken another job or what ?
Im not sure about the proper etiquette in this situation ?

Oh, absolutely let all your prospective employers know that you are keeping your options open. An employed person is much more marketable than an unemployed person, and if the other companies you are looking at know you are being considered by others, it looks good for you. It also says something about your work ethics that you don't want to give anyone a definite answer until you have spoken to all the prospects. Just my opinion!
