Far be it from me to be critical but...(I'm now going to criticise everything you just said)

I may be wrong... (of course I'm not!)

With all due respect...(I disagree completely and don't give a jot for your opinion)

Any others?...(I "really" don't want to be alone on this one or I shall look like the forum meanie)

Let me throw in a few, just to help out.

We will work for a prosperity that is broadly shared...(let the rich get richer, it's what they're for)

Federal spending should not rise any faster than the paychecks of American families...(you won't *believe* what I've got in store here)

we must not overlook the weakest among us...(homeless? what homeless!)

Iranians, like all people, have a right to choose their own government, and determine their own destiny...(hey! foul call! who the hell let them elect a hardliner?)

this Nation and our friends are all that stand between a world at peace, and a world of chaos and constant alarm...(Resistance is futile!)

Your enemy is not surrounding your country - your enemy is ruling your country...(God, did I really say that?)

We exercise power without conquest...(no, those fortress bases are for your own troops, we'll not stay there more than, oh, a hundred years or so)

When flower power came along I stood for Human Rights, marched around for peace and freedom, had some nooky every night - we took it serious. [Fred Wedlock, "The Folker"]
