should I go to bed?

Post by WonderWendy3 »

I have this problem.....

My name is Wendy and I am a night owl!

Since I've been unemployed (way too long already for my liking btw...) but since the beginning of March or so, (was laid off on Feb. 29th) I have been staying up most of the night/morning, getting up with the kids...getting them on the bus and then going back to bed until noon or later...well, ummm yeah....this is VERY bad!!

Now, my present dilema (sp?) It is 4:50am, the kids have to get up around 6:30, do I just stay awake?? or go to bed for an hour and a half and risk not being able to get up???

Definitely stay up or you'll scare them when you take them their coffee.

I say stay up. However, try not to sleep again until tonight, you need to break the cycle. Spending the lonely night hours all alone, and then sleeping while the rest are awake isn't good for you Wendy :-4:-4

I got into that cycle when I was injured and it took years to get back to normal hours again. Jobs that required waking up early got my body out of bed but my mind was still snoozing until lunch.

I suggest you try to break the habit before it establishes any further. A lot of people take melatonin to help restore their circadian rhythm, or a homeopathic preparation called "no-shift-lag"

Thank you for that Koan, I will definately look into that, I know I need to break the cycle, but easier said than done....

Yeah, I prefer the night hours to get stuff done...for instance, I just cleaned out 4 business file boxes of crap....I had about 4 years of paystubs, paid bill receipts and stuff that the kids made and bank statements etc. I eliminated one box all together and narrowed it down to one box that I HAVE to have with me at the apartment.

And I started on this at midnight, its almost 3 am and still have more to do!! yeeehaawwwww

ha, and let me guess??? that doesn't work??? Sounds like me, part of my reason is that the kids are in bed sleeping so I have quiet time and I don't have to work in the morning....so I sleep in the morning while the house is quiet after kids go to school....of course, getting them up and out the door is a fun challenge!!:-5:-5

Oooooh, thanks for reminding me....what are we having this morning???

I wanted to have a s'mores earlier, we had a bon fire on Sat, and I ran up to the store to get s'mores stuff, and by the time I got home it was raining, so we have been cooking them in the microwave and ummm, YUMMMMMMM....well, obviously my youngest thinks so too....he ate them all before I could get another one in since last night!!:eek:

I wish I could go back to sleep in the morning, but I can't. The coffee ruins any chances of that happening:wah:
