Your poor daughter...

I think a talk with the parents is definitely in order. Someone needs to reprimand the children who did this to her.

Why do you need your husband to go with you to talk to the parents? If you want to defend your daughter you should. No one needs to give you permission.

Unbelievable. At first I totally misread and thought it was a loose baby tooth and maybe they thought they were helping but holy crap! Hopefully your husband will come to his senses so the both of you can go to the home of each of those fkn brats and read them the riot act. If not both of you then one of you had better do it before this s.hit escalates! Damned kids!

She has a few loose teeth? Are these her baby teeth? I'm sorry, but

I don't think it's something to get that worked up over. No,

the kids shouldn't have been bullying but kids will be kids and a

loose tooth is an attraction, for sure. She quite likely wiggled it

with her tongue and showed them it was loose?

Investigate dental schools in your area, or free clinics.

I just didn't know until today. Earlier i sent Tiff out like always to play with the kids of the neighborhood- everything was ok (so i thought) until she came running in the house with a plastic easter egg. I ask her what's going on and what's in the egg.. She replies something and my tooth.. I asked what tooth (she has a few loose ones) - turned out to be a tooth that ALREADY FELL OUT! The brats in the neighborhood wiggled and pushed this tooth while holding Tiff down until it came out. They told her it was loose and needed to come out. Needless to say i am pissed! I told tiff to stay in the house & that she is no longer to play/talk to these kids again & she was going to go out and tell them this-which she did. I was waiting for my husband to come home so we can confront the parents together. He doesn't want to.. because he doesn't want to cause problems on the block! I respond with "Are you f-ing kidding me?!!! They knock out her tooth and your not gonna say a damn thing to anyone??" So I am forced to keep my mouth shut knowing that my daughter isn't gonna have a tooth there anymore because we don't have insurance or a way to pay for a dentist. I am so freakin' pissed i just had to vent..

Wow, that is a tough one Susie, I'd be very upset and try to convince hubby to talk to the parents, maybe a good time to wait until you cool down just a bit, so that you can present your case to your neighbors with a calmness of a concerned parent instead of going off (like I would want to if I were you)....just a suggestion....I hope this gets straightened out, my son was a victim of nasty neighborhood boys when he was younger and they ended up having to buy my son a brand new bike (well, their parents did)....but I think a TOOTH is a bigger deal....I'd be pissed....

Then how come it's LOOSE? And a FEW others? This is a little girl

and something isn't right here either with her nutrition or something

else. You simply HAVE to get her help. Do you want her to be

wearing dentures when she's 15?

Sorry, didn't read the second line. I fail to see though, how kids could

have gotten it out short of pliers or something. Teeth just don't come out

that easily if everything is in good, healthy condition.

I didn't know she was your step-daughter. You are right then. He should go with you; especially since they pulled her permanent tooth. If it was her first one then it is probably right in the front too. That poor baby. I understand your anger now. Someone has got to defend her though or only let her go outside if you go with her. I understand wanting him to go with you but he may not ever go.....

You didn't mention Tiff crying when she came in the house with the tooth in the egg and a mouth full of blood. Is it possible that the "heathen" children were trying to help Tiff? They may have wanted to help her get the tooth fairy to come back without having to wait for another tooth to fall out and pulled the wrong tooth by mistake........these are kids you are talking about.....and the tooth fairy brings money.

I'm concerned about why Tiff let them do it. Is it because they're bullies an dshe's afraid of them? Is it because she wanted them to like her? Why would she subject herself to pain from them? Maybe she needs to defend herself so these brats will leave her alone. This reminds me of my school days and I'm hot!

Angel Eyes, I was thinking about this as I was doing my house-work....and I got angry for you!! I would be furious, and maybe present it to Tim in the form of "what do you think the neighbor's parents would do if Tiff was involved in doing this to one of THEIR children"???? They would be knocking down your door and filing law-suits....I say you make some phone calls in the morning, I wouldn't give a flying fig about upsetting these parents....like I've mentioned, I had problems similiar but always involving bikes, cars or animals.... but never my childrens' teeth or body parts....I would have a whole farm over that....(like in having a cow)...

I am sorry that Tiff went through that, she shouldn't have had to, and I hope you get results easier than the harder way, but one way or another....results that benefit your daughter!:-4

AE, I don't mean to be harsh with you but you really need to get

your priorities straight. I think you're missing the point here.

You said you had serious problems with these kids before and yet

you still let Tiff out to play with them unattended? Poor choice,

don't you think?

You have to step up to the plate more if you are going to be a mom

with all that entails.

You need to get your financial house in order. Put money aside

for these things when they come up. And they WILL come up in

childhood, they always do. That little girl needs you to do for

her what she has no way of doing herself.

It would have been better to forgo the new kitty or puppy or dress

or CAR and save those funds for dental care. Have the tooth fairy give

a dollar or two instead of TEN.

I would love to believe that they were trying to help Tiff, but in the light of kids wanting to kill their third grade teacher, I guess you don't think kids are as innocent as you would like to think they are.

I've dealt with bullies with my boys....and its not a fun thing....I want to hurt them for hurting my kids, but you can't, you have to let it run its course or have your kid stand up to them and risk them getting hurt more doing so.....it sucks....why can't things be like a Mayberry???:-5:-5

To you Val,

I've alway valued your opinion but you went way too far. Kids are kids and have their petty fights- the parents and us have talked that out long ago which is why we let our girls be friends again. AS for our financial situation. We have NO extra money. If it wasn't for us renting this house from my BIL then we'd be homeless. we're a month behind on rent & have no more car.

the only car we have is my husbands work truck which we drive ONLY if it's necessary because if we get caught he's fired. All of our money goes to bills. not all of us here are rich, OK!

Good good for you AngelEyes, and I'm glad you talked to the parents....I know I would be devastated if my kid did anything like that to another child....of course...so would MY kid once I got done with them!

I hope things get better for you.:-6

You perhaps missed my post #6 in this thread where I said "kids

will be kids".

So, your brand new 2007 little red car was repo'd at some point then?

Couldn't keep up with those what 3-400 a month payments? I understand.

You'd have more money if you didn't buy a new dress and shoes for

NY eve, or the (maybe small) money for food for another cat and dog.

And you were planning a second wedding celebration? Do you see where

I'm going with this? I'm no Suze Orman but you have to wake up.

And as to your last remark, I'm about the farthest from rich there is.

That's laughable. The truck I drive is TWENTY-TWO years old, okay?

And that's just for starters. At 55 years old I'm busting my butt

mucking out horse stalls for ten dollars an hour.

I'm very glad parents are going to pay the dental bill. But if they hadn't,

or for the other dental work she's going to need... well, I'd be pounding

on doors if I was in your situation. Go to your church, go to social

services in your town... SOMETHING. There is a free clinic within

walking distance of me that is completely and totally free for people

of all faiths. I realize not eveybody has that but there still must

be a better option for Tiff than what exists now.

And please try and educate yourself. You run day care and don't know

how to possibly save a knocked out tooth? That's not good and before

you jump on me, yes, I know most of your kids are of a much younger

age. But if you had acted immediately, a dentist might have been able

to save this one. (If indeed it was a permanent tooth) Must be some

strong little girls out there and I can't believe none of the parents heard

Tiff's screams.

I don't appreciate being called a bad mom by anyone. We do what we have to do. The tooth was saved. I called an emergency dentist last night that told me we could wait until the morning or afternoon. We went it and everything was FINE.

As far as Tiff screaming/crying- didn't happen. She doesn't cry when she's in pain. She's always been like that. She gets up and goes back to play once the wound is taken care of. She's a tough little girl.

Eduacation for daycare- I went to school for this for about 4 months getting my education. PLUS i took Child Ed in high school for 3 years! i think I know what the i am doing when it comes to infants & children. You don't have any so I wasn't even listening to a word you said UNTIL you started putting my family and I down.

Like I said I usually valued your opinion but now I just think you're a total bitch who thinks she knows everything about anything!

If your gonna insult then please don't respond to anything I post. Thanks.

I am not in the mood for people like you to put me down every chance you get!

OK to everyone that actually cared- Tiff is fine and she's got the tooth back in her mouth. She was only at the dentist for about an hour and a half. He said these things happen a lot & not to be worried about it..

Come on now, AE. Calm yourself a little and re-think. I never called you

a bad mom at ALL. Didn't even think it. And I wasn't referring to your

education re: the day care, to get certified obviously you'd have to

have that. I just meant the other things, so you'd know what to do in

any future emergency. I'll let slide the dig about me not having any

children. As I'll let slide calling me a bitch, you're obviously upset and

not thinking straight.

Within the TOS, I'll respond to whatever I want, thank you very much.

Put you down every chance I get? Where do you come up with THAT?

Because of our history which has been good, I've let you slide on

sooo many things when it was pretty difficult to bite my tongue. You're

entirely welcome to do a little research on that one.

As to the snark about everyone who actually cared... jeez louise can't

you see I only said something because I cared about a little girl?

You just now posted that her tooth is okay, I'm ecstatic over the news.

Ok Val.. don't take anything personally but I am not mad or pissed off. I meant what I said every word of it.. You did call me a bad mother- I wasn't the only one who sees it either. You just didn't come out and say those exact words. I appreciate if you just kinda stayed away from me & kept my family and I out of your business, OK. I am not the forgive and forget type so if you once thought of us a friends then get that idea right out of your head.

thanks for being happy for her though.

Guess what, I meant what *I* said, too. Every word of it. The truth

hurts a mite, but if nobody else is going to stand up and say something,

at least I will always know I did. And a lot less than I could have

said, too. I'm not the only one who sees THAT, either. ;)

I'm sure the pm's are flying back and forth but don't assume you

are the only one getting any!

You'll have to "appreciate" that your family and you aren't in my business

but staying away ain't gonna happen depending on what I want to

comment on. Again, within the TOS. :)

I'm a VERY forgive and forget type, I've proven that in the past,

and right here in this thread, but don't worry, no ideas in my head!
