Hatred

Post by Nomad »

If you are unkind to yourself you will be unkind to others, and if you are negligent of yourself you will be that to others. Only by feeling compassion for yourself can you feel compassion for others.

Why do we hate one another ? Why do we persist in this destructive aversion ? What is it that enables us to commit acts of hostility and perversion upon one another. Could it be a lack of understanding or an unwillingness to relinquish our the side of ourselves that remains vulnerable ?

Love is not a passive state. It is an active force. A force of the soul.

As is hate and degradation and racism and the purposeful intent of destroying anothers heart or mind or soul.

This is what Im asking, are our differences really that great ? Just as the many times human beings find themselves in circumstances where the hurt or the pain is so great that on their own power they cannot forgive. Then that would be the time to bow and ask or beg for guidance and wisdom. Hate is a powerful tool that we use for vengeance and the engine that fuels and drives our hateful intents.Do we start out intending to hate ? Or is it an aquired taste we just cant seem to let go of ? Are we even aware of our own intents ? I suspect at many times were not, as awareness is a heightened state of bliss and acceptance of ourselves, others and the world we live in. What is hate except darkness, the absence of light ? I dont think its something that should be avoided but rather intensely explored and delved into.

To find and isolate the source of our own misgivings, doubts or inabilities is a step towards light. Its an admittance of imperfection and a realization that we lack an essential ingredient that provides for a complete awareness of ones self, and allows for the beginning of healing.

After all when we hate who are we really hurting ?

We can profoundly affect the happiness and health of those around us but unless we can truly love ourselves we cant heal the wounds we have created for ourselves. Our wounds will never heal if we perpetuate them and indefnitely feed them with the source of their cause.

In order to make a healing change within ourselves as I said we must isolate and define the source and intensity of the pain that we carry with us.You have to be clear in your thoughts about your purpose and intent for a gentler path for your soul to travel on.

Be mindful of the words you use, be clear that you are what you say, you are what you do, how you present your actions to the world. What you do is how you become.

Ive learned this in my own life. To change habits, to change desires, to change at all is one of the hardest things we can do.

To forgive is one of the hardest things we can do, it leaves us vulnerable. But at the same time it strengthens our character it provides a new outlook, it heals. It allows us to move away from pain.

We all of us are blessed human beings. We experience similar struggles, climb many of the same mountains and cry the same tears. We love. We have the potential to be extraordinary. We are different yet we are the same.

Why then do we hurt, kill, maim and destroy eachother ?

Because we are all less than perfect human beings.

What Lon said summed it up nicely, but all kinds of things cause hate

mental disorders

pain caused to our love ones

our own pain can cause us to loose clear thinking.

lack of serious consequences

and the fact that for way to long we have been allowed to toss around hate to freely and it seems insignificant anymore.

Too often I think people fail to put a face on their hate or bigotry.

Bigotry occurs for many reasons, ignorance being of the highest cause.

Ignorance meaning a lack of understanding. To be unaware.

Often its just passed on from generation to generation.

I dont know about the populace here but how many of us truly knows what it means to be oppressed ?

How many of us here have true validity for our hatreds and judgements on others, races, or religions ? How many of us have walked in a black mans shoes ?

How many of us know what it means in its intent to be a Muslim living in the Middle East ?

My point is its very easy to perpetuate hatred and it can be a very daunting thing to change your point of view, it takes a desire most of all, thats the hard part.

So if were not willing to at least examine our prejudices then does that mean its because were just too lazy or is it comfortable to not make changes, to not make an effort ?

Hey Raven good to see you.

You are exactly right, hatred comes from ignorance indeed. And hatred is often a catch all for maybe a dislike. I mean how many times have we said we hate something or someone, when really we merely dislike them.

I think becomes to easy to use hatred as a shield to protect us from what we do not want to learn about.

We dont' want to learn therefore we choose to hate.... that seems to be a base to some hatred.

Dont get me wrong. I'm neither a bigot nor ignorant. But you are so full of the 'pc' shite that I despise! I retain the right to dislike anyone I please! Why should I care about whom cries 'offense'! Noone is worried about how they offend me!

What kind of utopia do you think you want? Pick one, any one.......socialist, marxist, communist.... they all had the same tripe as what you're spouting. This is the real world mate. We are all beautifully different. Variety is good. We all bring individual talents to the table. Be happy with your kind. I'm happy with mine. I dont have to accept ideas that are offensive to me. I dont have to like people because they say so.

Pc shite ?

Im not sure how you can pass judgement on me when you know nothing about me but ok let me rephrase this for you.

It is what I believe. It is the world I have made for myself. It is what lives in my heart. Im not naive enough to think I can change the world by laying down a few sentences.

Im merely passing on my thoughts as to my perspective on things.

Thats really about all any of us can do isnt it ?

Aside from trying to influence those in our immediate charge.

And out of curiosity why woud you just naturally assume Im lying or pretending whatever and not give me the benefit of the doubt ?

politically correct pbbbtthhh......................pffft !

Have no use nor the time to waste on trying to say just the right thing, Im just giving you my take on my world. You didnt say this but Im saying it, my views might sound idealistic but if they work for me and thats how I travel in my life then their not. Im sounding defensive I know but Im just trying to get my point out that changes are made one by one and they all start in the home so teach your children well.

Is it really that out of whack to consider racism defeatable ?

man will never master the wind waves tide etc. It will never happen, why do we maim and kill and destroy?

-abuse and ignorance of society

someone who neglects themselves not necessarily neglects others( a single poor mom will skip meals so her child can eat, thats love not neglect.)

someone who smashes and grabs, possible an example of homelife or neighborhood ,there are endless possiblilities, I do not beleive one can answere so quickly your question, with one answere since the lives of the world do differ from each other do you punish a pupply for twinkling on the floor? No. You teach with patience a better way, the same in society, if you have no one to teach how can you learn?

I know Jasmund but its not a bad way to go at it dont you think ?

I used to be on the flip side of the coin, a cynic, pessimistic, negative.

For me striving to be my highest self (and failing often) gives my life validity, Im trying. At least it works for me my life is much more valuable this way.
