im gonna be really controversial here and say i kinda boycotted live 8 a bit...... i saw some of it but i certainly made no point of sitting and watching it...

my reasons being, all those artists who lined up to play their couple of songs wont have benefited from this at all with they..... there albums wont begin to fly off the shelves again.....

im sure bob geldof, madonna robbie williams elton john etc etc will be donating there MILLIONS to those african kids..... i mean peaches geldof didnt get into the concert free at all did she.... she had to pay for her ticket...... im sure bob sat in his nice comfy mansion with his cleaners and aides etc etc last night and wrote a cheque donating all his millions to the cause......

oh and would you believe on the news this morning pink ffloyds album sales and increased 10 fold...... what a shocker...... they wont get anything from that at all will they itll all go straight to africa not in their pockets at all....

i so support the cause of course but i think this was a really rubbish way of going about it.....

im sure the african kids were well chuffed to know that while they were sitting in their slum with flying toilets (plastic bags) all those people were gathered across the world to listen to their favorite bands.......

hmmm......

end poverty but perhaps instead of buying their albums give that £10 pounds to charity???
life is what you make it

my boyfriend just proposed to me (05/05/05) and im blissfully happy!! :-4 im engaged!! i have a fiance!! :-4

um..... well thats a bit out of date! im married now! and married life is the best thing in the entire world! with my husband by side my life is complete

Congrats Pink, I'll never forget that date either!! It was the day I left! :yh_party

Glad to hear that about Pink Floyd, I also didn't watch it as it must have cost thousands to organise and don't understand why they don't just hand over the money in the first place.

It was'nt about raising money this time, it was about raising awareness & showing the members who were to attend the g8 summit, peoples feelings about third world debt.

i did think it was quite ironic this morning when i saw on the news about pink flloyd donating royalties and a few others are as well.....

however not everyone will

i understand it was about raising awareness but i dont believe the people in world today will respond how they did to live aid..... i dont believe that enough people will sit down and think about it and then actually DO something as well....

and i also dont believe that the world leaders will respond to a load of pop stars singing a few songs regardless of how many people attended or watched....

thanks everyone for the lovely weddingy comments :-) theres a thread in the members news bit with a piccie of the ring too!!
