Post by minks »

Hey guys I think we need a joy thread, a thread we can come to and post the small joys of every day life into. Heck even big events. Anything that is joyous to you. We have some pretty grim threads here and at the end of a week it can feel kinda blue after we hashed over the world news and all.

So how about a JOY thread.

Mominiowa go on put your happy news here.

And everyone feel good about what you put in here we deserve to smile along with you :)

Well done you guys this thread puts a smile on my face I am happier leaving today than I was yesterday. I hope all weekend long our members MIA will straggle in at some point and time.

Good nite or day to you all for now.

Cheers

Oh oops nearly forgot, my JOY

If ever you met a woman and talked to her and thought "oh what a joy she is" that would be my mother.... my mom was born 5 days before christmas and my gran had the foresight to name her JOY. When I feel happiness I think of my mom, she truly is a Joy in every sense of the word. I am going to visit her tomorrow.

Cheers to you all

Our Grandson is coming (from Florida) along with his mom to visit us next week, we are so excited and can't wait!!! He will be 2 years old August 27th. He still does not say any words that resemble anything, maybe next week when he's here he may utter his first words, that would be wounderful!!! :)

Can't wait!!! :-6

Ok we had some good news! My son was offered a tuition free four year scholorship to an east coast university! It is very nice to know he was recognized and he is very pleased that so much hard work paid off! We are considering the school but we have some reservations about it. Mostly he is not ready to go that far from home yet.
WOW......... You go Rider.

Things like this reflect heavily on the parents.........

Hope you make the right decision. I know my son went to college in our hometown but I think he would have done OK further away.....

My mother went for a lung biopsy Tuesday after weeks of tests. There was a spot on her lung. After seeing it close up, the doctor really believes it isn't cancer. What a relief! Also, I saw my great nephew last weekend and see my step-grandson this weekend. I love them to pieces. :D

Mom those are gorgeous kids.

My second joy getting a LD call from the BF last nite to let me know he made it on his solo bike trip and caught up to his buds safely and is no longer travelling alone. What a relief.

My husband and I went last week and saw our two week old grandaughter, Karleigh Michelle. She is so beautiful and looks just like her Daddy, our son. This is our last grandchild also so she is extra special. :)

My joy...well, not trying to be all dramatic, but my joy is in life itself right now. I was very sick a couple of weeks ago, near fatal they tell me. Frankly that sounds weird to me, but I digress.

I remember laying there on the couch, delirious, and thinking how easy it would be to just walk into the clouds. I adore high fever hallucinations, don't you? :o And then thinking of all the things I'd miss...and the things on my list were so simple:

Red tulips, children laughing, dogs running in sunshine, fresh cherries, wind in my hair.

Bizarre!

And, for practical joy - I'm moving next weekend to a cute little duplex where I get my own garden! I've really missed dirt and sun this past spring. This place gives me a fairly large garden space without being too huge to care for. It even has a cute wooden fence with a rounded gate. *Happy Sigh*
