I for one, didnt realise how much noise people make in their everyday goings on.
Until yesterday. Even today, in the aftermath of the 'major incident', it's very quiet. I mean eerie quiet. I had to take a train last night. It was packed with people! But it was very, very quiet on that train. It's like people, en masse, holding their breath. Beautiful London took a hit. :-1 And they say the people that struck her, are still at large. Here. Living, eating and making merry with those they intend to destroy. Even though London is back to work today, make no mistake, it's a much quieter London.

Hello Raven, it's only natural for people to be so quiet following an undesirable and inhuman outcome as the one London just experienced. Life is good and every free and rationally minded person wants to live it to the fullest. It's scary to know that your life could be on the line when taking a bus or train. It's sad to have that feeling of insecurity that another blast may be near. Worse is the fact that the wicked perpetratiors are hidden within the innocent. It's really an issue that could make a community to so quite. However, people will get over it with time and the hustle and bustle of merry old London will come back. Though life may never be the same for those that were maimed or have lost loved ones. God save humanity!

I remember how wretched and sick I felt on september the 11th. Yes, I eventually got past the dread and post traumatic stress. I am more than a little shocked. And I have that nasty knot in my stomach again. This brought back much of what I felt back then. This time it was closer to me. I live and work on the fringe of London. The site of the carnage in my city is SICKENING!!! Those people were just trying to make a living, and feed their families, pay their bills.....just like the rest of us! They arent coming home. There is no justice for these people. There is no death penalty in Britain. The people who did this have more consideration and rights in the world, than the people they destroy. Maybe they figure if governments have so little regard for their citizens, why should they?

As far removed as we are here from anything that happened 911 i remember how eerie quiet it got when all airplanes were forced to cease flying we housed about 6 huge american planes at our airport and at the time I was working within a short distance to the airport and the silence was most un-settling and that feeling sticks with me still and I can't imagine what it really feels like to be in the heart of that spooky silence.

Your post reminds me how quiet it was in Springfield MO the day of 9/11. I worked a shift that day. I went outside to sit at a picnic table I always sit at at one of the stations. It's next to a busy highway and several businesses, very noisy usually. That day is was eerily quiet. I'll never forget it.
I probably posted that in an ambien trance-soryy

That awful day on 9/11 I was at work, down in our Cafiteria getting a coffee.
They had several giant screen TVs there, they were tuned to the News, & I saw the re-play of the first Plane hitting the Tower. I then stayed, and I instantly had a sickening feeling, I knew it was a terrorist attack and told eveyone there that was watching it with me that fact. Sure enough, within minutes I watched in horror the second Plane "live at the time" hit the second Tower!!! We all were then sick, then the pentagon Plane, & the Pa Plane. Shortly thereafter, many of us went home, I know I did. What a tragic day for humanity!!!

Yes 9/11 was a very somber day our nation was in shock as Im sure yours is now.
I want to be angry but right now I cant I only feel sadness and ill.
Know that millions of us here in the states have the highest regards for your nation of people and our prayers are with you. Your a strong and proud nation and nothing can change that this will only make you stronger.
Sincere condolences for the innocents and their families and to Great Britain as a whole.
We are brothers and sisters. If you struggle we struggle, if you triumph we triumph.
We are one.
We will persevere and our highest honor will prevail.

Im very proud of the high ideals of this country
I have different ideas though about imaginary borders
I happen to think we are all one people
a people with differences yes but all Gods people none the less
our borders keep us isolated and distant
my hope is one day we will surpass the need for armies to keep us in and them out
that said I love my country and am filled to the brim with pride for her
(I thought look behind you was funny thats all)

Unfortunately all "one people" don't blow each other up! Radical extremests can only be counter-acted with armies not well wishes. As these extremests don't see us as Gods people!!!

I know cars I understand that but in reality theyre a very small minority with a very large audience.
The majority of Muslims are a loving people not what you see in the news, this I believe.

Yes they are. But the quiet I'm referring to was different. It was eerie. I cant even begin to describe it. Almost like someone had turned the sound off. A noise vacuum, if you will. I'll never forget it.
