Today was the day the teachers at my school found out if they would be rehired, due to restructuring. They told me yesterday I get to come back, and I breathed a sigh of relief. But the long line of those not returning were told today, and many of my friends will not be there next year. We all cried, it was very sad.
I do not know what to say, but that they will find a good position teaching somewhere else. Sometimes it is hard to tell people you have learned to care about, that a better position will come up. :-1

That's sad, I hope your friends find something soon.
Glad you got to keep your job though bunnygal.

Good for you Chrons !!
I'm sure this made you a nervous wreck - big sigh of relief..
We have schools completely shuting down due to all the homes foreclosing - leaves the neighborhood empty.
It's sad

Ahhhhhh Chonsi:-4
I am so happy for you and so sad for your friends. Hope they find another job soon.
It's very difficult securing a teaching job in many areas of NJ. If you lose your job you might as well learn a new skills and enter the business world

Of course they'd never get rid of you! :-6 But I feel for your friends.
We're growing like gangbusters down here in San Antonio. If anyone's interested in relocating, have them check down here.

There are lots of districts here, not just one. Here's a map.

The best qualified should go for Northside ISD. They're the largest & richest ... and most bureaucratic. For a challenge, come down to South San Antonio with me. That's where the highest pay is as well.

Oh, I am bookmarking that site, AC. Thank you.
Oh Carla, it is sad to think of cuts there in California too. I would love to move back, but will probably just wait out the 8 years or so until I retire, then move back looking for a part time college position. I am lucky to have that one I have now.
At least I do not have to worry about my job, but it will be sad tomorrow going to school.

chonsigirl you wouldn't want to be here now the prices of everything is so very high. Thank God you have your job and can go till you retire then come back like you say in a part time position.

Glad things went your way chonsie, loosing work friends always hurts. (well maybe sometimes not always:wah:)
Just curious, now that many teachers will be not returning, does that mean that your class size may/will grow? :-2
That's what happened when my company had a cost cutting "reduction-in-force", (RIF) their clever term for layoff. So after like 28 people were RIF'd in my department, I had to redistribute their work loads among the remaining work force. Needless to say they were not happy, but content in that they still had a job. :yh_sweat
