The Depression- color photos

Post by RedGlitter »

This is cool because usually we see the past in black and white, those Depression era people as ghosts. These sort of bring life to them.

There are colour pictures available from near the start of the 20th century. There are also colour movies taken during the first world war. There was a recent documentary and a DVD available, can't find a link to any of the clips at the moment but there are probably some around somewhere. You might find this of interest.

Foreign to you but having seen the places shown in modern times it's creepy seeing them from so far in the past.

Aha found some This is worth a trawl.

It's almost shocking-like watching ghosts. most of the soldiers you see probably didn't survive the war.

There's ww2 ones as well.

Great finds, gmc! Thank you!

I especially liked the pictures as even though I don't live there, it's a blast to see the architecture and people's clothing in color. :)
